I always thought Fatah was weak compared to Hamas(Even with Arafat), but this latest situation pretty much confirms it. I wonder what is going to happen to the West Bank now that the two groups are split? I doubt Israel will give up control after what has happened in Gaza. The irony of it all is that Gaza was released becuase Fatah was at least willing to talk.

Hamas is funded by Iran, their weaponry rivals Israel. But, as long as they are killin OTHER Muslim nutbergers, the weaponry just makes it more efficient:aok

Well one thing is for certain, the Palestinians will be voting with their feet. It will be interesting seeing where the majority end up going. Gaza under Hamas rule or the West Bank under Israel?

They sure won't get a chance to vote again with anything else....another day or two, and the BBC will explain how this is Israel's fault

This will be one vote the Palestinians wont be able to hide.
BBC will need to be more concise now when they talk about the occupation. They will need to clarify if the Fatah Palestinians are referring to the occupation of the West Bank or occupation of Gaza. Most of their readers will be confused too...
I would not be surprised to see another wall going up in Gaza. Not to keep people out, but to keep people in...

One less militant faction to deal with.
March the rest of Gaza back to Egypt where they belong.

I think news from there is when something *doesn't* happen.

This is not good at all. Ten years ago Arafat was told he is mad letting the Hamas grow. Back then it was convenient for him that a different organization attacks Israel while he is negotiating. Surprise surprise, it got out of hand.
The Fatah, a secular nationalist organization is someone with which a future compromise can be made. It is lead by a bunch of idiot impotents though, who were so afraid to confront Hamas when it was small that now they have to confront it when it is big. The Palestinians will have no state unless then can be represented by one organization speaking in one voice and strong enough to control his future state. This is the critical point that Ben-Gurion realized and Arafat/Abas didn't. After Israel withdrawal, Fatah had an opportunity to demonstrate its ability to rule and keep other groups under check. Their failure that started with several thousand rockets fired on Israel and now this, casts many doubts on future agreements.
Hamas in Gaza and Fatah in the west bank is an impossible situation. The Gaza strip is just too small, crowded and lacking in everything to stand on its own. Don't expect too much help from Egypt. They have enough trouble from the "muslim brothers" and would not give them a victory and base of operations in Gaza. They also do not want the Gaza strip back.

pretty much somes up my opinion im pretty sick of hearing that my family in sederot has had to be in thier bomb shelter most of the day, its ridiculous and the fact that egypt and or jordan arent helping them, just proves that they are a people doomed to failure in thier "jihad"

Keep them walled in and let them kill each other off like the animals they are. They are just too stupid to realize they are getting tOOled, it would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic.
