So I had my lancs to bomb V46 (TT map)...but bish had taken the hangers down...so I said 'Well OK'. I saw a Tiger. I wanted to make sure I killed him.
".salvo 14"
"Bomb Doors Open"
"Bombs away"
So, all the bombs hit right on his top of turret (Weakest point for a Tiger). I thought for sure I'd get him...After all the bomb craters...he is just sitting there...Turret still working, he simply just drove to concrete and landed.
Also, a few weeks ago, just to add to this story I had a Tiger. A P-40E drops a 500lb bomb on me and I die!

That is not possible.

Shortest salvo duration is 0.05 seconds. At a speed of 200miles per hour, that means you drop a bomb every 5yds, resulting in a total disctance of 70 yds covered with 14 Bombs. Technically, only one bomb could have hit his turret top, not all 14.

No, this is a direct hit.... and that was with 18x 1,000lbers.

One hit... that is all, out of 18... Stall out all you want, 6 eggs won't fall in the same spot.

But as usual, people think that you have to salvo an entire load of ords to kill one GV. No surprise there.
You probably would have been successful with only one bomb. Parish the though. LOL

Had much fun in my Tiger a few hours ago defending Ndisles A18 town against a CV raid. Did the Tiger Waltz outside the town and collected 8 proxy kills of greedy blue planes trying to bomb me :)

The only reason I dropped all mine is because we had troops on the ground and the gv was close enough to town to 'maybe' hit a troop. I do feel bad because it was LTARsoup.... :( Tell him sorry and I will take out his garbage for a week.... :D

yeah Sketch, I saw your post on that...sqrl..we were about to take the base and I did not want that Tiger to get in our way...wanted to make sure he was dead.

Actually, if a bomb is set with a timed fuse it will not blow up on impact if it hits a target before the set trigger time.
I admit the pic itself is very interesting, though, since it seems to suggest AH has some kind of system that determines whether dropped ordnance blows up upon impact or not. So far, all we know is that every AH bomb detonates after 1000yd travel distance. The pic seems to suggest that there's also something else.
We just don't know what it is. A bug? Or a feature?

well I doubt a bomb bounces when it hits ground in WWII...

They just went in the ground about 8 feet and sat there for some farmer to find 50 years later. :D
Once that bomb is armed it is ready to go and the next stage will be it getting initiated to go off, that being either time impact. It all depends on how you wanna look at it for the game as the 1k eggs in here are pictured as almost a JDAM/Penetrator look. No sure of the arming system is really figure in here, but it is a joke when a bomb gets lofted at you from a guy going 350mph on the deck and drops it 30 feet off the ground and you die. You need a bit more alt and time than that...

Thanks for posting those up for the other guys.... I know what they look like, I build them everyday at work and on JDAM's. :aok
The penetrator you have posted is kind of new-aged... here is a modern day one. The top one is a basic dumb bomb body. The bottom one is the BLU-109/B, notice the nose of it being solid? If it has fuze in it, it weakens it on impact and will not go into the ground like it is suppose to, therfore the blast is directed different.
