The local golf course (used to be part of the base here) is The General Robin Olds Golf Course. People tend to call it the "old course", but a few still know who it's named for.

What a man.

My hat is over my heart and I am deeply saddened by the loss of another oustanding member of the greatest generation of our time. R.I.P General Olds, you will never be forgotten.:(

"These Migs are MINE, go get your own".
THE personification of a fighter pilot. A GREAT fighter pilot.

He was the guest speaker at the AW Con 2001 in Seattle. It was a great talk, and a great Q&A session following. Getting to shake the man's hand was the high point of that Con.
~edit~ Savage, I'll join you in that toast shortly....but I'll make mine a single malt ;)
