what would have happened if you did something different? Change one little thing in your day and see the outcome?
Tonight, it was business as usual. Everything was routine and I closed right on schedule. Before locking up and making my night deposit at the bank I remembered I left a bag of marked down Reese's candy I bought in the office. I told the girls to wait a minuite and ran upstairs to get it. It took me about 2 minutes.
I finished locking up and headed to the bank to make my drop. When I drove up to the bank I saw a man walking down the street and 2 cars sitting at the drive-up. I pulled over to the curb and checked out what was going on. There was 2 girls standing outside the cars talking on their cellphones.
I waited a sec, then rolled down my window and asked if they needed a jumpstart or something. The girl standing beside the first car said no, they were just robbed by a guy with a gun. I looked back for the guy I saw walking just a few seconds earlier and he was gone. He had been spawn camping the night deposit.
The police arrived, I made my drop and I left.
If I had decided to leave that bag of Reese's and close on time, it could have been me the guy robbed and not them. It's a good thing I really like Reese's.

Seriously tho, it's kinda like the butterfly theory, i.e. if a butterfly flaps it's wings the ripple effect is felt around the world.

I find that if I think about all the what ifs and near misses I have had in my life I can't sleep at night. It is a good thing your OK. Try not to over think it. Fate has a way of working things out.
