What's not to trust?

That said... I suffered a identity theft problem last month. My eBay account was compromised. Fortunately, any banking information I had on the account was already expired so it didn't create any additional problems. So, my advice is to keep your payment information separate (different username with a different password), with something like PayPal.

Also... of all the people I had to deal with during my identity theft, eBay was the easiest and most helpful. Top marks for them. Worked it out via online chat and over the phone.

I've done a good deal of business on eBay and can only say good things. Contact me via the link below if you have any specific questions or check out their extensive help section.

Ebay is fine; just make sure that you check the feedback of anyone you buy from, especially if it’s a big purchase.  Also, be leery of any email “from” ebay.  There is a lot of spam/scam emails asking for you to log on and verify info; never respond to these since they are probably a fake mirror site probably run by Nigerians.  Always manage everything by logging onto your ebay account.

I ebay all the time ~ using paypal.

After several years I just got my first spoof email this week from someone claiming to be paypal with notification that my 'payment' was complete.

Of course, I didn't bid on or purchase the item listed in the email ~ and there's an option to 'dispute' which pops right up.  If you just 'sign in' using your paypal login (email address) and password, your dispute is supposably processed.

Then, of course, if you actually put your information through in the fraudulent dispute box, they then have access to your paypal account, which (in my case) funnels from your bank account.

So, all in all ~ I love ebay ~ used to operate entirely using money orders because I was worried about using paypal.   I'm going to continue to use paypal, because it's convenient.

Just watch your tail feathers on that stuff.

Just wanted to thank you for the new camera body. Or rather, thank your credit card company. :D

Nothing purchased with any of credit cards. My eBay account won a bid on a $500 cellphone though.

Never accept wire payments, and never deliver or let anyone pick up anything in person.  Otherwise eBay is great.
