what you guys think would be the outcome of the pacific theater had the U.S. made a zero fighter like this one the Navy was testing...?

the outcome? it would be the same, US would win.
ack-ack
-
The US would have lost more pilots in the early part due to having a fighter with no performance advnatages to exploit while having less skilled pilots.
Then we'd have replaced it with something better and won the war.
-
I think the war would have raged on for a few more months if not years

Zeros wouldn't have sunk the IJN carriers at Midway. Zeros wouldn't have bombed key installations. Zeros wouldn't have fought to a bloody stand-still on certain islands. And Zeros wouldn't have dropped the atomic bombs.
It wouldn't have changed much, IMO.
-
Would not have happened. Tactical Air Intelligence got that plane from the Aleutian islands. TAI used that plane to test its limits so that they could devise tactics to defeat it. They discovered that they didn't like the tradeoffs that the Zero used to get it's range and nimbleness. No self sealing fuel tanks, no armor for the pilot, meant that it was a plane that wouldn't bring you home if it took any kind of damage. Something the Navy really didn't like in their own planes. TAI showed the Navy where the weaknesses in the Zero were, and how best to use the strenths of the Navy planes against those weaknesses.

No. We would have still dropped the Atomic bomb and Japan would have surrendered.

theres a hook ? quite a boring thread if you ask me. Childish question, boring answers.

One thing that could have helped the US had they had a fighter like the a6m would have been armed scouting.
The flight endurance was amazing.

So the outcome would of been different if we made a plane like the Zeke of which was obsolete in the Middle of the war and still replaced it?

no the outcome would'nt be diffrent. and yes the we did make a plane kinda like the zero, its is F8F Bearcat, its was well armed, and manuvrable, and had a good armorer. its may have been too late for the war, but some of them are now racers like the "Rare Bear".
