Not really. I've been spawncamped most of the time.
But beside that, only few people are there any more.
If I survive the initial spawning, I have a very hard time finding enemy GV's at all. Usually I die to aircrafts now, long before I have to chance to fire my main gun at other vehicles. Pretty boring now.

Never been a fan of TT. Circle jerks just aren't my thing. :aok

Aces..... HIGH
In ye old AH1 folk did actually try for gv to v base captures instead of this endless round of whack a mole but it was commonly known as "Furball Island" then. I wonder why

Well... just like pilots did actually fight for a base instead of just racking up kills by bombing GVs at TT like a certain player from Coventry did... :D

Whats wrong with TT?
Nothing. Tank Town is fine but instead of the easy satisfaction to spawn up on which ever side had the most numbers, sit there and fire and land uber amounts of kills you now have to work. If you look around TT all the old tanker guys are there ie Rondar Dr7 Bipolar 1Lefty ect. What you dont see in TT now are the score hores(due to not being able to spawn and camp it kills there K/H time), the newer less skilled players, the older players that are skilled poorly in tanks but due to not being able to spawn up and camp they cant get kills.
The new TT requires you to.
1. Be able to range from long distances.
2. Constanly be moving since there are 3 spawns you just cant sit behind 1 spawn and never die, Now they can up at the next closest one and kill you.
3. Not be a dweeb. You cant just park right behind the spawn with 50 of your country mates picking on the 2 or 3 guys upping.
4. Now you have to work you have to be moving listing and thinking at all times in TT if you expect to live.

Sorry... Personally, I do love the new layout, and I had much fun the first days slowly rollin around, stopping & listening for possible enemies. But the number of players there had dropped to such a low level that my fun in TT has diminished. Because I find driving around for 20 mins to find a target to shoot at is pretty boring.
Usually I die to a bomb first. Maybe it's different at prime US time when there are 400 players online instead of 200?
It's sad that players left TT, but it's a fact they did. And I can't say I like it.
(In old TT I usually died to bombs too, but player density was high enough to get at least a chance to fire a few rounds at enemy tanks before going boom.)

It exists.
That island was much more fun when the spawn points were all the way back near the canyon entrances and there was no town.

I like the new TT layout, with the new style of trees and hedges and so on. It did help with the spawn camping but of course you can't get rid of it all.
Only draw back I see to the new layout, is the Town pretty much see little to no action. Used to be fun to get into the town and find a hiding spot to wait for suckers to drive by.
Now the town as far as the battle goes is pretty much non existent. I guess you have to take the good with the bad.

I played in TT a few times with the new terrain, and immediatly didnt like it. To me there was nothing wrong with the old version. I died more from egging then other Gv's. But came to expect it and knew the what to expect. Now I think that is why there are lot of people complaining, not so much for the fact they cant find gvs to fight but for the fact they cant find gvs to dive bomb with their buffs. Then there was the glitch with the windmill which I believe has been rectified. Anyways new TT SUCKS. Bring back the old one plus give us the bonus and bring back FT map.
-
I enjoyed the Pre-Sherman Post-Jeep TT, where you could get kills in a jeep.

TT..... what to say. It's a total free fire zone, personally I would find it amusing if killshooter was turned off in that area only........:noid

A. The problem with the old TT was not spawn campers behind you, that's fair if you let them roll up your flank. The problem was the spawns were too close together and too close to the Town. Once one side got enough people out and ranged your spawn from their spawn or the Town, you were toast 7 times out of 10. And sometimes you spawn with your back nearly facing the enemy spawn.
The simple solution was to move opposing spawns further from each other and the Town to require at least 1.0K of movement before coming into reasonable long range of the enemy spawn and visa versa.
In the new TT the addition of two more spawns was a good idea.
While I like the new terrain features and the Town very much, the problem is they put it everywhere around TT. There should be more, larger open spaces and variance. At this point, there can be a GV hiding behind trees or hedges every 200 yards, which can be fun for awhile, but in the long run causes people not to move or maneuver as much. It has become more of a mousetrap game than a fluid tank battle area.
Finally, as always, the attack pukes are even more prevelant in seeking milkrun GV kills, which in turn has caused more people not to GV in TT, myself included. Until TT is at least somewhat game restricted for attack fighters and bombers, with the less open terrain, TT is probably going to be less populated, which will make the toolshedders very happy.
It's not that the changes to TT are not essentially good or appriciated, just that they went a little too far with the closed terrain.
-
I like the fact that theres more cover around the city, but the city in general isn't nearly what it was like before. (no sharp turns, narrow streets, more hiding places, more GVs, etc.) It definently seems more long range fighting than the close street combat.

"What's wrong with TT?"
Its gay?
-
I loved it at first, but slowly lost some interest, though I do go in for a while.
It's very spread out, which makes finding the enemy tougher. The prefered strategies seem to be spawn camping the hill, or setting up an ambush somewhere and waiting patiently for someone to drive by. I eventually found a few places to do this, where crossing traffic is more likely.
Still, without a huge number in there, the action is much slower than it used to be. Of course, there is far less spawn camping, which I never cared about. I used to like to break a spawn camp in the old TT.

Ironically, I agree with this statement. I can agree because I think there is more to the game than upping and fighting (aka furballing).
That said, we each enjoy the game our way, which means there will never be a universal singular solution to how it's played. There will always be furballers, GV'ers, base takers, and tool shedders.
In two weeks, when the new fleet formations with battleships guarding seaside bases and submarines, we will probably have guys who simply run naval battles.

IMHO the biggest problems with old TT was the dropping of one sides VBase hangers. This gave the other countries 15 minutes to get setup behind that Base's spawn point. Although there was nothing more satisfying than spawing once the hangers popped and killing those campers. Imagine that driving around for 15 minutes to find a good spot and then die in 2 minutes or less with maybe 1-2 kills. The other biggest problem I seen was the no talent dive bombing dweebs in the lancs or B's carpet bombing TT and getting maybe 1-2 kills. I could handle getting egged by Attack Aircraft but those dweeb bombers ticked me off. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST BRING BACK OLD TT!
