Taurus pt140 pro in .40 S&W. 3rd gen. DA/SA, no hammer, no decocker,10 round magazines, 2 inch barrel, 17oz. polymer frame. Very small pistol, smallest .40 that I know of, barely fits my hand, and I have small hands. Has a firing pin block, right side thumb safety, and the slide can be locked closed with a key. Ergonomically it's perfect if you're right handed and have small paws. Asthetically it would be very nice if it didn't have silver writing all over the slide. Inexpensive pistol that's exceeded my expectations. An excellent concealed defensive pistol.
also has a visible and feelable round-in-the-chamber indicator
So far I've put 750 rounds through it, four different brands of cheap practice ammo, both 165 and 180gr. 100 - 200 shots between cleanings. I'm suprised that none of the ammo has failed, kinda hoping for a stubborn primer so that I can try the double action restrike feature. Not really accurate but as accurate as can be expected from a 2 inch tilting barrel and 5 inch sight radius. The blocky Heine sights don't help either, I plan on replacing them with some narrower sights.
My only problem with it is that it's shoots a few inches to the left. Like 3-6 inches at 7 meters. The sights are already adjusted as far as they can be to the right. I'm thinking that the barrel and the slide don't mate up well.
So I'm going to send it back to taurus and have them fix it. That's another good thing about this pistol. Taurus has a pretty much unlimited lifetime warranty on their guns.

I have a taurus PT99. It's great with the exception of it shooting far to the left. I just assumed this was my shooting skills, as I hadn't shot in quite a while.

Tilt the gun 90 deg gangsta style and it'll be right on target :)

That's what I thought first too. I let others try it and they had the same results. I tried My friends Para ord. .40 S&W Tod Jarret edition 1911, was like shooting fricken lasers, would put holes exactly where you aimed, but rather boring to shoot. And it jammed, 3 times in one day.

I prefer Smith & Wesson .44Magnum with 12 inch barrel, a handhold cannon. No need to fire 750 rounds trying to hit something. I only need one bullet.

I fired 50,000 rounds through a Ruger super blackhawk before I had a malfunction that stopped the gun from firing... the transfer bar got so work hardened that it shattered making it impossible for the hammer to contact the firing pin.
Just as an experiment... I used a nail I found in the dirt and wedged it in the transfer bar area.. the gun fired with the hammer hitting the nail and transfering the blow to the firing pin.
The bar cost about $1.50 to buy at the time I think.

I'm glad to hear that after 750 rounds your crappy taurus still shoots.

Well I got it shooting straight, but..
Was going to put 200 more through it today. About halfway through the second box the the dovetail lego-block front sight broke in half and flew off. Planned on replacing it anyhow, but now I got to shelf it untill the new sight arrives.
Still no malfunctions though.
