Title: How-To (Wireless Networking)
Post by: OOZ662 on June 26, 2007, 11:46:14 PM
Alrighty, this is probably a simple question to some of you guys out there.

I have a wireless router set up and working. I want to get an Xbox connected wirelessly but save myself some cash. I'd need to fool the Xbox into thinking it was connected to a wired network, so I'm guessing what I need is a wireless router in reverse. I want to receive the wireless signal and output it through RJ-45.

If anyone could give me the name of the item I'm looking for or point me to a recommended one (preferably on NewEgg) I would greatly appreciate it.

Wireless access point?

Connect to the Xbox and wireless bridge to your router.

I've only used an access point once, and it was receiving the internet through the RJ-45 and broadcasting it out the antenna. Is there an option somewhere inside the setup system that you can change to reverse that?

If you pick it up let me know how it works - I've got a PS2 - upgrading soon to XBox 360 or PS3 - generally, when I play PS2 online I play through a wired connection but when the wife isn't home I like to drag the system out to the living room and play on the 37 inch LCD and would love to be able to play online out there...
