Buffalo wasnt used by the US. It may have been made by them but was used by the Fins. Eather way yes.
Same with the P39. It was built by the US but it was mainly used by russia
because of its lacked high altitude performance. I voted for it over the A26 and B25 but its still lost.
Meteor was kept in england and never really saw combat agenst other planes. It was ued to kill V-1s.
-
Brewster was used by U.S. early in the war.( not for long either)
-
P-39's were used early on in south Pacific by the U.S. at Guadalcanal and in Alaska. I'd sure like to see it in the game.
-
The US used the P39 but scraped it early on because it couldnt escort the bombers into germany and duke it out with the LW at high alt. So when they got better planes they gave them to the ruskies.
Iv never heard or read anything showing that the US used the brewster so Ill take your word on that. I was just trying to piont out that they shouldnt have been labeled under USA because the other country used them alot more then we did.

A critique on the selections suggested:
Ju-188 low numbers, performance between Ki-67 and B-26 we have now. Nice addition to German plane set, but not any priority.
Ju-388 Only a handful made to counter expected B-29's over Germany. Only claim to fame being the victim of highest recorded shoot down of the war. Most used for reconnaissance.
He-177 YES. Only German heavy bomber made during the war in any numbers. Special ord like Fritz-X will work against it (we're not getting guided munitions).
He-111 BoB SEA event only plane. Hangar queen everywhere else. He-111 heyday was Spanish Civil War, it was outdated by 1940.
B6N2 Jill LW torpedo bomber? Nope.
D4Y2 Judy YES. Good performing MW dive bomber. Yep, be nice addition to blue-water plane set.
G4M2 Betty We have the Ki-67, everything else is just a slower, less capable, medium bomber. And no, we not gonna see the bomber escort gunstar.
Ki-27 Nate very EW 1930's design. Nope.
Ki-43 Oscar a lighter, weaker, even more poorly armed Zeke. Nope. It's nimble, I'll grant you that.
A6M2-N Rufe A floatplane??!
H8K Emily A flying boat??!
Ki-102 Randy Very limited production. Very late war. Very unspectacular. Twin engine Japanese heavy fighters are all pretty bad. Nope.
J2M Jack With a range of 360 miles more or less? It could climb fast and be a defensive bomber interceptor. Pretty limited use. Nakajima Ki-44 Shōki "Tojo" would be a better choice for a Japanese bomber interceptor and B&Z plane. For quick defense against bombers, I'd rather see 88mm flak36.
Ki-46 Dinah A twin engine recon plane? 1 rear gun? Late war ones were changed for ground missions and interceptor roles pending the Allied invasion of home islands, but really, not a great choice.
Brewster Buffalo - EW moslty Finnish flown plane. Only if we also get the Gee Bee R-1, Fiat G.50, Macchi MC.200, Nakajima Ki-27, and I-16 along with it.
P-61 Black Widow A twin engine, heavy night fighter? No on-board radar, no on-board night vision, no night in most arenas. Nope. It would get eaten alive in LW arenas. Limited SEA princess and overall hangar queen.
PBY Catalina No maritime and antisubmarine patrols in game. No SAR. Not needed.
P-39 Airacobra YES. Only if P-39D, P-39Q or P-400 and added in the Russian plane set in a Lend Lease version. Russians made far more use of P-39 and P-63. Second highest scoring allied ace was a Russian flying these. Russians should get it.
Gloster Meteor -- home defense and V-1 hunter. Nope.
Fairey Swordfish -- biplane torpedo plane? Um. Nope.
I-16 -- see Buffalo above.
Pe-8 - Russian heavy bomber? Less than 90 made? Nope. Russians did not get into strategic bombing until after the war.
Tu-2 - too close in capabilities to existing Ju-88 to be of interest to me.
Yak-3 - YES. be a nice addition. Shorter legged but more maneuverable Yak. Considered by many the best dogfighter of war.
Considering additions to the sets are few and far between, and that 90% of the players are in the two LW arenas most of the time they play, I would look to adding planes to the game for the game play, more than what they could do for SEA events and historical inclusion. For example, float planes and flying boats had particular missions that we don't see in the game, so they are not a priority for inclusion.
To that end, I'd suggest these planes:
A-26B Invader (solid nose)- perk worthy attack bomber (need a perk bomber other than Arado in the game). Uber strafer.
A-26C Invader (glass nosed) - perk worthy level bomber - only change from B is the nose, otherwise identical planes. Two planes for work of 1 model. Level Penetration bomber with drones.
German 88mm FlaK36 towed artillery - player manned puffy ack to 35K altitude, indirect artillery fire , long range direct fire, tank destroyer roles. Early War onward.
G.55 light perked interceptor and best of the Italian planes and a treat for some Luffenwobble pilots. Low numbers compared to other nations, but a sizable chunk of Italian air force, and probably their best work.
Stuka JU 87G(refitted D model) version with the twin 37mm BK FlaK18 tank killing cannons.
Pe-2 Peshka to give the Russians a bomber. Il-2 and Pe-2 working together with La-5's and Yaks for cover would make for a great Eastern Front SEA event.
Ki-84-Ic (Mark Ic) - Lightly perked (5 pts). Version against Bombers, with two cannons Ho-5 (20 mm) and Ho-105 (30 mm) in wings. Or the Ki-84-Ib Version armed with four cannons Ho-5 of 20 mm.
Other than the Vader, for a additional perk bomber, and the lend lease version of the P-39 in Russian planeset, I'd avoid additional American planes in favor of filling out the plane set a little more for other countries.

US used the Brewster in the early days of the Pacific War and some did see action in the Battle for Wake Island and I think even some saw limited action in Midway.
The P-39 was used by the US througout the war in both the PTO and MTO.

Sorry, I forgot one:
Mosquito B.Mk XVI with formations enabled.
-
The Gloster Meteor Mk III was stationed on the continent from january 1945 to the end. It did combat sweeps looking for enemy aircraft as well as ground attack missions. There was, as I recall, one dogfight against some Fw190s that ended when some Spitfires showed up and went after the Meteors thinking they were German. No Fw190s and no Meteors were hit in that fight.
No Ki-84-Ics saw combat, less than 10 were made. About 500 Ki-84-Ibs were made.

My reasons why we need them
Germany:
Ju-188: 88 just is too slow
Ju-388: We aren't gonna get unless we get 188
He-177: Would fill gap in German bomber set
He-111: Would be nice to see
Japan:
B6N2 Jill: B5N2 is too crappy
D4Y2 Judy: D3A1 is outdated
G4M2 Betty: If we get this we should get the baka bombs too lol jk
Ki-27 Nate: Would be a good plane for Flying Tigers special event
Ki-43 Oscar: even more nimble than A6M2
A6M2-N Rufe: THE PORTS ARE USELESS WE NEED SEAPLANES!
H8K Emily: see A6M2-N
Ki-102 Randy: 102A had a 37mm cannon, 102B had 57mm cannon, would be a good ground attacker
J2M Jack: improved N1K
Ki-46 Dinah: It looks cool lol
USA:
Brewster Buffalo: Many requests
P-61 Black Widow: 4x nose mounted 20mm and 4x .50cals that could be locked in place to fire foward or 360 degree rotation, 90 degree elevation turret. would be a great ground attack A/C
PBY Catalina: 4 torps and WE NEED TO PUT PORTS INTO SOME USE!
P-39 Airacobra: Russians are in dire need of new plane
Britain:
Gloster Meteor: Saw service in WWII
Fairey Swordfish: idk lol, British carrier torp plane
Soviet Union:
I-16: I could go on and on why we need it
Pe-8: could carry 1x 11000lb bomb lol, looked very similar to B-17
Tu-2: Fill a gap in Soviet bombers
Yak-3: Yak-9 and no Yak-3?

Yes you can. Just be aware a most of these planes have been brought up numerous times in the forum. So some of the guys have read it all before, and get tired at the same ole stuff. Some suggest you do a search of the thread before makng a wishlist. Then again, if you're new the thought would probably not cross your mind.
One thing I do find humorous though, for all the people that tire of these same old wish list they never tire of the same old answer of two weeks.:lol
The two weeks joke is older and lamer than most wish lists, but that''s just me. Press on Pannono, and don't worrry about it. Who knows, one of you new guys may end up being the one Hitech listens to for plane request.:aok

This forum is kind of useless because of the onslaught of naysayers chomping at the bit to tell how wrong you are with your wishing. You could wish for every plane that saw service in WW2 and ten people will come along and tell you why thats wrong and then tell you what you really should wish for. Which is what aircraft/vehicles they want in AH.

No!
You kids come on the fourms and just drop names of planes you have no clue about. Use the search button for any of the planes you listed and read all the posts about them. Most the planes you just listed were in the "vote" a few months ago and lost out to the B25. Mabey in the next few years when we get more ToDs we will get the planes we need to fill the blanks in the lineup.

Larry you are the Sqeeker Mk1 in my book. No offense intended.
You're just the first kid I ran into that came in and grew with the sim. You made the transition from sqeeker to member. This new batch of young people coming in can go two directions. Annoying pains in the butt, that are only here for the summer, or guys like yourself that bring something to the sim. Your gameplay, skins, and love for the sim have contributed to it.
This guys wish list seems well thought out. It's not like some I've seen where the guy asks for B2s, F22s, and Harriers. Give the new guys a chance, don't just dump on their enthusiasm because they're new. Give them a chance and see which way they go.
Pannono.......... You forgot the A5M.

that was a nice plane, the zeke replaced it but it was used until more A6Ms were made for all cvs. they used the A5M Claude as a kamikaze (like everything else) at the end of WWII

Meteor Mk1 and Mk3 got credited for 14 V-1 intercepts (13 by gunfire, 1 by using the wing tip to flip the V-1), and credited for strafing 46 German aircraft on the ground. It tended to draw friendly fire from pilots and gunners who thought it was a 262. They were not allowed to fly over German held territory due to the fear of even wreckage falling into enemy hands. It was no faster than prop planes at altitude, but was faster down low. It was more useful as a propaganda tool than a weapons platform in the closing days of the war.
It's air combat contribution to the war is nearly non-existent. V-1 intercept, fast recon flights, and some ground attacks. It saw more friendly fire than enemy fire.
It's like arguing to include the Consolidated B-32 Dominator or the Avro Type 694 Lincoln into the game.
And as to the 'Vader, by VE day there were 48 squadrons of A-26's were in operation among the Fifth(Far East Air Force), Seventh (WPTO), Ninth(ETO), and Twelfth (MTO) Air Forces, and more squadrons of medium bomber crews (A-20, B-25, and B26) coming from Europe and training to fly the A-26 against Japan. They didn't get the high profile strategic missions, but spend their time attacking tactical targets: munitions, barges, communications centers, trains, bridges, crossroads, marshaling yards, and any military target of opportunity they came across. That, and it would be a good perk bomber addition to the game for folks that don't care for the Arado. Might even put a dent into the "bomb and bail" tactics buff drivers who don't need perk use.

Cookie to whoever tells me why this statement is clearly wrong... :D

*raises hand tentatively*
"uhm... Because they were cleared to fly over Germany in the closing months of the war?"
-
How did they kill 46 german AC if they wernt allowed to fly over enemy territory?
Haha got it first:p
-
Ummm...how can you get 46 confirmed kills on the ground of German aircraft when you can't even fly over German territory?
EDIT - LOLZ, TIE!!!
-
Yeah, but the more obvious answer is that they couldnt have possibly strafed german aircraft on the ground if they were not allowed to fly over enemy territory.
