just seeing what other people think here but I am madder than a hornets nest in a tornado over this whole Japan changing Iwo Jima to Iwo Toco or what ever it is now. It is a war memorial and a sacred place to all who have served in WWII or any other wars, the respect is still there!!!! And thus being said I think that it should remain exactly as that!:furious :furious :furious :furious :furious :furious stoopit japs who knows what there gonna change next :noid
Just the rantings of an overly-patriotic hick,

I saw a news report last week detailing how some Japanese veterans are also angry about the name change. It was the original inhabitants of the island that wanted the name changed back to what was the original name.
Wonder how many Russian and German veterans are angry that the city of Stalingrad had its name changed after Josef Stalin fell from grace?
I'm sure the veterans of Iwo Jima will have no problem remembering no matter what the new (old) name for the island is on maps. My dad was there. He's not really flipping out about it. Why should I?
