relly if you have ever played axis vs allies you always need paratroopers but you never have them so i say we get a german paratrooper plane so the axis have a chance
and yes i know i spelled my name roung:rolleyes:
-
yeah, they never have a chance! that's straight up roung!
-
Bring the Ju-52 to AH
-
Japanese used a license built DC-3, so we already have an Axis transport.
:p
-
The He 111 could carry 16 paratroopers,we should have it in the game if only as an alternative to the Dc3 Dakota, but it could also carry a decent bomb load, or two torpedoes.
Also good for scenarios, instead we're getting the B25,which we really Don't need.
If every decision about this game was put to a player vote I'm sure I would have to leave.lol:)
-
I think their is colour footage of the He 111,being used by paratroops on Utube.
l
Also as tough and fast as the Dc3,with defensive armament, although I'm not sure if this was carried on Transport versions.;)
-
The russian built C47 had a tail gun also, we have the skin but not the gun :huh
-
Just get the Japanese Tabby-Showa/Nakajima L2D skin for the C-47.

It's getting flamed by a PB4Y here

That is the first time I heard the He 111 described as tough and fast after 1938

good idea if we get a vote on what new plane to get lets make it the HE 111 thats what we relly need not the B25 :aok
-
Of the many many reasons we need the He111, "use as a goon" is NOT one of them!!!
-
and why is it not a reason we have such a need for paratroopers on the axis!
-
Why not? It could be an option in the hanger.
-
Often when used as a transport it was with seats (like an airliner). It had a very small interior, and I VERY much doubt it could carry 16 fully geared up paratroopers. Further, the pre-eminent Luftwaffe paratrooper delivery aircraft was the Ju-52. The Ju-52 was also used as a bomber, but it was not considered a bomber.
In the same line of thought, the He-111 may have been used for troop dropping a few times, but it was NOT a troop transport. It was a bomber.
Let bombers be bombers, and let transports be transports.
You want an axis transport, that's where you should ask for the Ju-52. We need the He111 but as an early war bomber! Not as a transport! (this game desperately needs more early war light bombers -- you really can't run any scenario before 1943 these days because of lack of early bombers!)
-
As much as I love the He111 I would not want a paratroop version of it. Nor would I want the Ju52. I would just use the C47 because its faster and the MGs on the Ju52 would do little dammage to attacking fighters.
Ju 52/3m ge
The Ju 52/3m ge was the first version that entered production in large numbers. It was powered by 3 × BMW 132A-1 (license built Pratt & Whitney Hornets) radial, rated at 660 hp (492 kW) each. It could carry 17 passengers, reach a max level speed of 155 Mph (250 km/h), and had a max take-off weight of 22,046 lb (10.000 kg)
In the meantime the Luftwaffe had expressed it's interest for the Ju 52, to double as aeither a transport or a bomber. The bomber role was to be fulfilled until the Dornier Do 11 would be ready, but problems with the Do 11 meant that more emphasis was placed on the bomber role. Therefor the Ju 52 was fitted with 3 cells capable of carrying 3,307 lb (1.500 kg) of bombs in the fuselage. Defensive armament consisted of:
· 2 × 0.312 inch (7,92 mm) MG 15 trainable rearward-firing guns in an open dorsal position, 1.050 rounds total
· 1 × 0.312 inch (7,92 mm) MG 15 trainable rearward-firing gun in a semi-enclosed, semi-retractable ventral 'bathtub' position, 750 rounds
Number built: unknown out of a total of 5.415
If HTC gave us a axis transport I would rather have the ME323 then the Ju52.:D
-
the ME323 is way to big i would rather use the JU 52 and if you are playing axis vs allies the axis dont get the C47
-
Yes, they do.
Considering the C-47 is the only plane in this game that carries troops, if there IS a setup where you have axis vs allies, and there is the option of capturing fields, then both sides will get the option of the C-47.
-
well when ever i play axis vs allies the axis never get C47 and the allies allways take over all of are bases and we lose.

The AvA arena is not about base capturing and winning the war. You have the four Main Arenas for that.
-
I really don't use them but a few guys in the squad do, so I would like the JU52 just for the historical element. We only fly luft, and it's a bit of an immersive let down when capping off a nice victory with the C47 instead of a JU52.
I would also like the German Halftrack, for the same reasons.
AvA does not need a transport at all, but the HE111 would be great for the maps and planesets there. While slow, underarmed and releatively light load, the HE111 is just darn cool looking!
Shoot that's three of my top four on my wishlist...Panther being the other of course. :aok
Bring in Iron Annie !

He 111 H20/R1 carried 16 paratroops, toward the end of the war,it was used increasingly as a Transport, rather than a Bomber.
Tough as a Dc3,certainly,with a top speed around 250mph,faster as well. They were also known for surviving heavy battle damage.
Faster than the Ju 52/3.,which is the other, and most obvious Axis choice ,but it's speed..err,or lack of it ,would make it a Hanger Queen.
The He111,gives us a much needed Axis Bomber and an Alternative,Axis Transport.
I'm surprised it's not here already:)
-
battel gnome if the allieds have the C47 in a setup then the Axis will to, but AvA is not a base capure arena. Its about the fights in there if you want milking goto the MA.
-
By the way, the Reason you don't see the He111 used in this role very often is because by the time it was availible the Germans had stopped using Their fallschirmjaeger in Large actions due to their heavy casulties at Crete in 1941.
After this point they became elite foot soldiers for the most part, just as most paratroop regiments are today, they rarely go into battle by the chute.
-
True, you might say the allies need paratroopers...
