Post by: Krusty on July 05, 2007, 08:56:19 AM: We've got a salute, but that has connotations of 2 combatants saluting each other. If we see a friend's name in the text buffer but did not have a fight against them, it seems a bit strange to send them a salute as a way to say "hi".

How about a clone to the ".s" command, does the same thing but it's a greeting instead of a salute?

Like a wave.

Instead of the text buffer saying:

Krusty1: JoeDog31

it would say

Krusty1: JoeDog31

Just a thought

Or even just have it say

Krusty1: JoeDog31

(or "" or whatever).

Something, whatever it's called, that doesn't imply we've just killed each other, as the ~~command does.~~

But it was an example where I once saw his name in the text buffer, saluting somebody else, and I didn't want to to say high because the s were already exchanged between him and the other guy. And recently I've seen a couple of names in the chat buffer that I might have wanted to say "hi" to, but wasn't on ch.200 (and didn't want to tune to ch.200).

So it's an honest request.
