Just noticed I screwed up the center isle VH for blue team. The long range spawns should come from center inside of ring, not where it show on outside of ring.

That map actually looks pretty damn cool.  If I was a map maker, I'd give it a shot.  Hell, I'll give it a shot anyway, just to learn stuff.

I really like the lvt spawns to other gv bases. Lvts would be used alot more then besides carrier attacks.

Possibly pt spawns in the very middle? like a pt town. We have tank towns and fighter towns...

WAY to many vbases and would be easly reset with in the day. no way to defend your bases by the air. i am sure its a gvers dream map but would not be that fun for people that like to bomb or attack, but you did a hell of a job putting that map together.

The only thing that worries me is the legend on the map that says "Very high mountains". How high is "very"? If they are too high you will be limiting the flight paths to just the channels.

On the other hand, I thing this map is more along the line of what HTC is looking for..... not that they have let me in on anything :) In my opinion, I think they are looking for "even" maps, maps where one teams starting spot is much like the others so there is no whining about "We're stuck in the reset corner again!".... the reason I think the Minadao map isn't in the rotation.... also the reason I think Festers last map was shot down. Basically, I think if you build a single country, layout, terrain, elevations and such, then just copy rotate and paste it for the other two you'll have a good map.

Unfortunately I think too many people have taken the "Evenzee's" stuff too far. Heaven forbid one team starts out with an advantage !

Great map, Filth!

Would be nice to stick 3x 10k airfields off in the far SW corner surrounded by 50k mountains with only FH.

Just doesnt look like there are a lot of airfields to me.  Maybe it just looks really spaced out but there seems to be large gaps between airfields.

I dont know how to use the grid stuff. If anyone does I'll be happy to send them the bmp of it.

   This was just a rough draft and Im sure theres alot that could be adjusted such as number of fields etc. Maybe make some valleys between the high mountains at key ares too.

Actually some of the bases with that grid are too close I think to what is consider the norm.

   Again I didnt draw the map to any scale and could be resized to fit a grid if needed.  Here is the size I was thinking of...pretending the grid is the same as Lusche used, but, the map was draw bigger to accomodate.

I like it.  Great idea!

To put more of the map area int ouse though I'd add bases to the outside of the outer ring and create openings in the outer ring to allow the fleets out.  Maybe also add another ring outside the current outer ring, again, with bases on both sides with openings for the fleets near the ears on each side.

BTW, it reminded me of Mickey Mouse too.  Call it FiLtHy Mouse :)  Kind of Telletubby-like too... maybe FiLtHytubby would be better.

my first thought was "DUMB" its Mickey Mouse, but then i really looked at it and damm i feel bad for that first thought, it truly is cool there are all kinds of good "battle" spots,

It's hard to tell without a grid on the map, but, it looks like a lot of the airfields are 50 miles apart(or more). I would suggest that you remove the gv fields and check the distance between airfields. The best way to do it is to put the airfields in first. Then add the gv fields. Since gv fields have remote spawns, their placement is a lot less important.

You are correct, they are 50+ miles apart. That is friendly to enemy. It looks like friendly to friendly airfields are much closer.

I like the idea..but you should take this a step forward to realism. Here's just a rough drawing over your image.
I resized the image a little to bring the bays (ponds?) closer to the south one so they are about the same distance from each other.
Either way, I hope to see your map in the game next week ;)

I dont make maps...I just thought up this design. As I said, it could use some tweaking. Maybe more AFs on the outer rings etc.

   The main thing I like about it besides the HQ pond areas being an objective, is the center circle long range spawns that give direct GV access to the AF inside the HQ pond area. The center circle would be a TT, with a real objective tied to it.

This is one of the better map ideas to come down the pipe in some time. Give it a few more ports, keep it kinda heavy on the CV group side, might be a massive blast.

I like the idea, it kind of reminds me of an inverse AKDesert map (the original pizza). That's why I quickly punched it out in the TE, so HT could see the idea in near true size with the true grid.

Filth, I like your idea, the concept seems very good, it can be a great map. Just one think, as you said, I guess it's better to have valley here and there to break the high mountains walls.

Forget "Mickey" -- name is "Shrek!"

It does no good to have friendly-friendly afields 25 mi apart, but friendly-enemy afields 50mi apart, because the fields change hands. IMO you have to keep it consistent. 2 sectors is a bit far in this game. Hell the average MA pilot would run out of gas with that kind of range!

Plus, if you spread them so thin, there are much less fields. That leads to a greater chance of one side being pushed into the spawn corner (just because there's less fields for them to fall back on). You want enough that any one side has enough fields to keep fighting from, but not so many that the others cannot capture them (and force a reset).

All in all I'm open to the layout you've suggested. Perhaps not the best, but new and innovative.

Very interesting Idea there <>

I really like the center with the "TT" with a purpose.

I also like the fact each side has a Airbase there could make for some very fun fights in the center ring over the water, bit of a flight but the fights could be very nice there.

I have no idea about Terrians or I would do this one looks like it could be a blast.

I would love to see a map with Bomber bases only and fighter bases only.   I think this would add to the realism of the game.  I think it would also create a more war like atmosphere instead of tool sheding and furballing.  

Would also like to see out of the way high alt spawns.
