Today I was gliding home in a FW190A-8 over NDIsles after getting beat up by 3 bombers I shot down.
As I was gliding along I heard an engine behind me. I rolled left and right and sure enough there was a 109A-5 below and behind me. Since I was still over 10K I put it into a dive to build E so I could at least try to fight the guy. I reversed once on him, then again, then was rolling, dodging the shots I was sure were coming. To his credit he slowed down and saddled up good before he opened fire.
At this point I was already almost on the deck. I got hit and was going down. I furiously started pounding the enter button planning to type .ef to save a few extra points. Somewhere during the proccess I hit the ground (I'm not sure if I had actually bailed or not or if I actually got .ef typed in or not).
Simultanelously in the text buffer:
Zeagle shot you down
BaldEagl landed 3 victories in a FW190-A8
You have landed successfully
This was over water between bases (~12 miles to each).
I spoke to Zeagle (who PM'd me afterward) and he did get the kill. I also did get the landed kills.
Sorry, no film but Zeagle claimed he filmed it (he was going to send it in against me cheating). I asked him to send it in so the bug could be fixed but he said he wouldn't. Maybe you can contact him and see if he has it on film.
This is one of the weirdest bugs I've ever seen.

Not the first time I've heard of it. Couple of sqadies were talking about it a month or so ago. Even posted, but it turned into a "who you callin a cheater" kind of thing. Truth is my squadie was dead in the tower when it happend to his killer, so we had to guess at what happened. It was a furball over water and we surmised that it was just this kind of bug.
Definatly a glitch, but far from explotable. Would like it fixed so there's no more mis-understandings.

I've gotten shot down in a Ship Gun, I was gunning on a 5", and this is what showed up in the text buffer:
You have shot down GameID (I will not say names)
SpiKeSX has landed 4 victories in a Gun Ship or Field of
GameID has shot you down
all at the same time.

There are no "deaths" in a field or ships gun.
If you were blown to bits by a player, and you have more than 2 kills, you get the credit as far as "name in lights", you get to see who was responsible for your demise. According to the scoring page in the help section though, the field gun and ships gun kills do not count towards your rank :(

Ever once in a great while I get a "GameID shot you down" when a field or ship gun is shot out from under me. Regardless of if I have a, one or more kills IIRC. It is rare and seems random.

That bug has been around since aces high 1, I think it was fixed but i am not sure

Yes, you got shot down but you didn't suffer a death. You never do in a ship gun. Your kills are always landed successfully.
You can however get killed in a field gun and they are lumped together with ship guns in kill stats in expanded format.

Had something similar happen to me several months ago...
and what is IIRC? Keep seeing it but not sure what it means

Yes. But my point is, you ar enot supposed to get the "GameID has shot you down" Message. All it should say is
GameID has landed xxx victories in a xxx of xxx
You have landed successfully.

I dont have a image but once i got kill number one in a flight then kill number 1 again, i tried to land but someone on my team shot me down, it was in H2H.

i recently got a kill number 0 and then the next kill was 1 and so on i ended up landing 5 but shoulda had 6 ....

I've had that happen to me before too. I've also had kill #1 followed by kill #1.
