Any custom sounds? If 8inch is using a custom sound, replace it with another or default.

If you are using an onboard sound chip, you really should not be using any custom sound packs.  That is just a general comment.

No, I am saying that when you destroy a lot of objects your connection gets more data coming at it.

I am just guessing here.  It could be a lot of things.  Computer out of resources is a candidate.  Running an anti-virus or security program can cause it.

I lean towards your connection as you have had definite problems with it.

And there ya go.  Packet loss still happening at the GCI/Level3 interconnect.  You are not going to have a stable connection as long as that problem exists.

10 samples and 10% loss is very high.  1 packet out of ten fails to reach its destination.

All of the arenas that aren't MA are hosted on a separate physical server. However, they're still on the same internet connection so your packet loss would still cause the disconnection.

In your case, yes, you should disconnect when doing a high-connection-stress action in any other arena.

The person sitting next to you might have a different route to the AH servers than you, defined by your ISP (especially if he is on another ISP's service). Do a pingplot on both machines to the MA server and compare them.

borrow your buddies computer, login to your ISP on it, and use your account at HTC....just in case they have your name marked for the "disco on bomb blast fix"  :) What I'm saying, is if you can use your ISP and account with no trouble on his computer it will pretty much narrow thew problem to your computer wouldn't it?

You could also have him do the same on yours, see if he gets the discos. It may give you a better idea of where to concentrate your search for answers.

Running a pingplot on both machines will do the same thing, but actually provide hard data.

I only suggested he try the other machine, because I'm starting to think he's got a computer problem, and sometimes its hard to admit that. Ya his connection looks crappy, but if his roomy can connect same ISP and lines and stuff his connection could be crappy too, but his computer is running right so it don't disco. Just a good way to settle ones mind so to speak.

would not updating your drivers cause this problem? i ask this cause i cant remember the last time i updated a driver

Not really. A stable system should remain stable. Especially in video cards, updating the drivers might make the system much, much worse.

The more pings,  the better the profile you can build. I let mine run for a bit, on bad days I let it run for hours.  :D

ok skuzzy i talked to my ISP and upgraded to a level5 internet. should be alot better. way enough speed. asked them about the packet loss they said it could be my lines running thru the house. does this seem right? i mean these cable lines are not that old.

Excessive traffic on their pipelines may also be the culprit.  We all know ISPs like to put as many people as they can on one line.
