Refurbished usually runs 50% of normal price, aroudn $60, and you get it from Saitek so you know they've checked it out.

I have a hard enough time justifying to the wife why I need 2 LCD screens and why I have to have another old computer setup to run a Linux Firewall, and the list could go on for pages.  But I not that good of a pilot to need one :)

Where do you see "refurbished" mentioned anywhere in that ad?

And I dont need one as I have a CH stick & throttle.
I just put it out there for anyone who might be interested in a Saitek

I meant "another option is refurbished" I wasn't saying "this is refurbished".

good price but sams requires a membership and the regular X52 is on clearance most places to make room for the X52 Pro

I've my x52 ( brand new) for months and tried many things to make it work right . I have the same problems many have, including tech support that closes at the same time I leave the office. I hate this stick. Make sure this is what u want. Including losing calibration during combat and not being able to use all the buttons and mapping.

I haven't laid hands on a Saitek setup in ages, but aren't they still sloppy from the get-go?  And don't they still get worse with usage?

Or have things changed?

This is my first saitek and is the top of their line. It is still below my very old MSSidewinder pro. Looks pretty if u don't need to use it.
The idea behind the functions, bells and whistles is great but it doesn't work. I'm not the only 1 saying that.

I have the X52 also. I have no problems with it. I can map all the buttons, sliders, hats and wheels.
I dont use the Saitek drivers. I just plugged it into USB port and let AH detect it.
I also use CH Pro rudders with it

I've been using the X52 for about 9 months now without problems. I love it.

Yep - I did. About half my set up is mapped from aces high natively, about half through the SST software.

My set-up is not particularly complicated though - its possible to go way overboard.

only thing superior to the old sidewinders is the CH sticks. nothing else comes close.

saitek is crap as far as stick accuracy goes but their throttles rock. I am still using my old x45 throttle and love it :) goes great with ch fighterstick and ch pedals.

Citabria,

Question about your setup, do you have CHmanager and Saitek profile software running at the same time or all as DX inputs?  I have a X45 throttle and a CH throttle but really miss the rotarys.
