Title: A prayer for a friend of mine
Post by: stockli on July 10, 2007, 12:01:54 AM
Id like to ask everyone in the Aces High community to pray for a friend of mine who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident yesterday afternoon.

He is stable now, but there are still some tests being done and some issues that can arise.

He has a long road to recovery.

And to all AH2 riders, keep the rubber side down.

My buddy was in a Coma for a month in Dec of 1997.   He had a closed head injury, and recovered in time to stand at my wedding as Best Man in Dec of 1998.

I sincerely wish your friend and family all of the best.

Thank you guys, I got word this mornig that it looks like he will not need surgery and later today he will be asked to try and sit in a chair.

Now that doesnt sound like much but with a busted pelvis and back to me it seems a little soon, the accident just happened.

I think this is a good sign that they are expecting a full recovery, only time will tell.

Thanks for the prayers I will keep you posted.

My brother just finished getting healed up from a butt buster last summer.
Broken leg, thumb, nothing life threatening, but long on rehab for some reason.
Having been through one of these myself many years ago (and none for the past 20+ years, knock on wood), I wish him well and a speedy recovery.
Somebody get him a new Gremlin Bell.  His must be defective. LOL

They usually want you out of bed asap.  Pneumonia is the biggy to avoid.  Just sitting in a chair almost naked to the world does something to get your system jump started towards the positive.  They do that post surgery about 3rd day.  I did brain hemorrhage and stroke 6 years ago, brain tissue forever damaged.  Don't discount rehab.  You want your life back (your buddy)?  Give 150% and don't back off.

I remember just ten laps in my room to the wall and back to my chair was sheer agony.  My Navy survival & pow training is how I got thru it.
