:rofl sorry I can't with hold my laughter. Another fine example of the gay hating moral majority party.
The short story..
Republican State Rep Bob Allen was arrested, for offering $20 for a BJ from a undercover male prostitute.

State House Rep. Arrested
Titusville police say they have arrested Florida State Rep. Robert "Bob" Allen, of Merrit Island, on second degree misdemeanor charges for soliciation for prostiution.
Allen, 48, was arrested Wednesday afternoon at Veteran's Memorial Park on East Broad St. in Titusville. The park was under surveillance by a detail of undercover police officers.
Officers say they noticed Allen acting suspicious as he went in and out of the men's restroom 3 times. Minutes later, he solicited an undercover male officer inside the restroom, offering to perform oral sex for $20. Officers realized he was a public figure after the arrest.
Allen, a Republican, represents District 32 of the State House of Representatives. The district spans parts of Brevard and Orange counties. Allen was first elected to the office in 2000.

A good question would be: Why is prostitution illegal?
The socialist fifth columnists in power here in Norway are also trying to criminalize prostitution, but I see no valid reason for doing so. Does anyone?
-
I see no reason to criminalize the act of sex for money. Lot of the other stuff that comes with it is pretty bad but the act itself, in theory, should not be against the law in my opinion.
The only problem I have with it (other than ancilary crime) is that it blurs the line between what is "consenting adults" and what is not. Often, the prostitute is not at all "consenting" in the way that I would define the word.
If the prostitute is truly consenting then it really is a victimless crime.. a crimeless crime in my opinion.

I agree, unless it happens in the restroom of a public park.

Why? Is it illegal to have sex there?

Whew, He's lucky he didn't get caught in Arlington or Ft. Worth, Tx.

Making prostitution illegal is another example of legislating morality, and it creates far more problems than it solves. This story is unfortunate, and sounds like a private matter to be dealt with inside his family. Gossip sucks.
-
Legal prostitution or not it indicates there is a security risk with this individual and a rather prominant case of hypocrisy. Neither, unfortunately are rare in politicians. When it does become obvious like this case it should be grounds for removing them from office.
If you can't walk your talk, don't say anything. If you are a politician, the way they are demonstrating their craft today, you are already pretty much a prostitute anyhow.

But did he have $100,000 in his freezer?

Yes I actually was born in Brevard country and lived there most my live. Lots of easy access to beach, rivers and lakes there. So the boating industry is pretty strong there.

I agree that there should be no reason for prostitution to be illegal or narcotics for that matter. one could make the argument that the state reps. profession is already somewhat of a potatoy job anyways and that his actions should be neither surprising nor particulary commentable.

A lot of the laws are left over from our "Morality" days.

Its alot safer for police to make stings/arrests of Johns and Pros. than to actually look for meth labs or the like. Prostitutes & Johns rarely ever carry weapons or put up a fight, and are usually happy to just PAY THE FINE!(which is really the important part, cant forget about the money)

I'm not sure, but I assume sexual acts on public property falls under public indecency or obscenity law.
