Title: Crocs
Post by: Seagoon on July 12, 2007, 11:55:17 AM
(http://www.gardenscape.ca/images/CROCSOrangePrMed.JPG)

Ok, when I first saw these plastic clogs, I said you've got to be kidding, who would wear something so incredibly ugly on their feet? Then I began to notice otherwise normal people (even SF guys) wearing them around town and even to church. Yeargh. I just don't get it personally. Does anyone actually think they look good in these things?

according to the she devil they're the most comfortable flip flop type shoe she's ever worn.  You'll never see them on my feet though.

They were originally designed to be deck shoes to wear while boating/sailing, if I understand correctly.  Maximum possible traction, quick draining when they get wet, I hear that they're the cat's pajamas in that environment.

They look ugly, but I've heard that they're hard to beat for comfort.  I believe the company has more conventional looking semi-formal versions available/coming out that don't cause eye blisters by retain the comfort.

It's more of a foam resin plastic something something, and magic.

The wife got all the kids a pair when we were in Atlanta.  She asked me if I wanted a pair and all I needed to do was give her the "Are you freaking NUTS?" look and she dropped it.  I noticed she did not buy herself a pair.

Kids love them though.

They are really popular among the nurses and staff at hospitals because they are very comfy to wear and walk around on during long shifts. They are somewhat popular among "civlians" here too, but you wont see people wearing them outside the yard/house/garage and whatnot. I have thankfully yet to see one pair in public.
