I have acquintence with a gentleman who piloted early a-20's in pacific, then became OIC of repairs to the incoming  B-25's....
 Why are there no ventral guns? He indicated they where always an 'option' and crews  would have ventral position ready to go, as he said, for the rear gunner to use if necc....?
 Just athought....
