F-111 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2L7WP8MAzo&mode=related&search=)

I thought an afterburner *was* raw fuel injected in the exhaust.
This made it sound like yet more fuel in the exhaust of the afterburner.
-
I think what it was was some kind of sprayer mounted on the rear of the engine that sprayed the fuel on the exhuast that was exiting the jet engine.

looks like me the last time I ate some of my brother in laws salsa :D

This was at the Avalon airshow in Geelong - i was there woo! Australia still uses the ex US F-111's we got after (or during?) vietnam - soon to be replaced by the JSF when / if it ever finishes development.
This is the usual F-111 party trick. There is a fuel dump nozzle at the back of the plane which is used to get rid of excess fuel before emergency landings etc, but i guess someone discovered that it looks impressive if you set it on fire :)
GO TEAM.
