I would truly like to research and make aircraft skins. Unfortunately I have no idea where to start. I've been modeling aircraft and collecting prints and models for over 50 years. I also have many many plates of actual WWII Aircraft and Volumes of books on the subject. I do have Flying Colors from my airbrush days....but now it appears there are better sources for information.
What software would I need to start?
What are reputable online resource sites? (Colors, Insignias etc.)
Any help would be appreciated!
Thank You
Hajo
Oh BTW! I have a scanner and fax machine so I can send plates over the internet.

Go here and read.. http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/
I suggest Photoshop if you can get it, although PSP will work and so will GIMP.
Note that the program must have layering capabilities.

Make sure it does layers, I am not familiar with that product enough to advise you on it.
