My Oldest Baby Girl is getting Married today... My new Son is a Great Guy too... Funny that he looks like me from the side, even though my Daughter and I bumped heads alot.
So I can't sleep, have mixed emotions. I'm happy for them both so why am I in tears?

Naw, Mac....not at all...
It's no different than that first day of watching them patter off with that mini-back-pack on their first day of school.
Seperation anxiety.
We just love 'em as parents ;)
Congrats <>

Its a very emotional thing Awmac. And its also a huge change in her life. If your the kind of man I think you are you love her so much it hurts. So just ride out the storm of emotions. You'll get back into safe harbor once this is over.
BTW give the couple our best wishes, Mr & Mrs GhostH.

Congrats man, but I have one question, Isn't it kinda wierd to be getting married on a Tuesday, you don't hear of that too much.
-
Congrats to your daughter and to you for gaining a new son in law (Grandpa!) ;)

congratulations mac. all the best to your growing family.

Now THAT is a day Im not looking forward to.
My daughter is only 10 and I already get teary eyed just thinking about it.
Congradulations and condolences

Mac,
You raised her to be able to have her own life. This is the day you spent all that work, anxiety, concern and love to get to. You are just letting the woman that used to be your little girl go from the nest. Be happy she is ready and able to be her own person. You did good.
Congrats to the newly weds and to their old fart parents! :aok

A Tuesday wedding??? Uh... will this be a small affair, at the Justice of the Peace, or is this a big wedding?
Seems most percular AWMac. Most percular indeed.

Congrats are in order regardless of the day of the week. ;) :aok

Hi Mac,
Congratulations Fred, marriage is meant to be the second greatest of all blessings here on earth, and if you have a daughter who is marrying well, then the only thing you have lost is the burden of being directly responsible for her well-being. For you it is all gain, for she does not cease to be your daughter, and he has become your kin.
As for Tuesday weddings, don't listen to the naysayers. To tell the truth, from a Pastor's perspective I could wish everyone got married on a Tuesday instead of Saturday. A Saturday wedding means I have three sermons to write and preach back to back, the church gets grandly messed up the day before the Lord's Day and needs to be cleaned and rearranged again that evening, and usually I end up exhausted the day before the most important day of the week.
Hey, one final life-long rule if life I give to grooms (apart from 7 weeks of pre-marriage counseling and examination of Eph. 5:24-33):
"First, he must choose his love, and then he must love his choice."
- HENRY SMITH
The Lord Bless, Keep, and Increase them,
Andy

Thanks to all that wished well.
To those that question the pick of the Day... it was their choice.
Imagine if we all could be born or give birth on a Saturday, be married on a Saturday or pass away on a Saturday. Some things we have no control over. How convienient.....
They both work very hard and have the same Tuesday off. No she is NOT pregnant either. I raised my Daughter very well. Honor Grad from High School, Had a Congressional and a Presidential appointment to USMA which she turned down to attend OU at the last minute. Attended Baylor Medical on a full scholarship in Texas and returned home to be with the one she loves.
He is a very upstanding young Man and has a very bright future ahead of him. I welcomed him into my Family as a Son and nothing less. I am also very proud of him.
I'm a very proud Father and time seems to be flying by. It's the aging period that I alone fear. "Seperation anxiety." Bingo Sue... Good words Hon Thanks.
To those that wish well, I thank you from my Heart. To those that question. Maybe you should look into your own Hearts?

that is so mostly true but where can you get a wedding done or 13k?
-
She quit Baylor med school to get married?
No wonder you're crying. I do wonder why you didn't shoot the guy though.
:furious
Seriously, congrats. I wish them a happy life, even if they'll never know the simple pleasure of a 7 figure bank account :huh

I figured since the average funeral cost is around $6,000 (Please don't take this wrong AWMac) The wedding would be twice that. I added an extra $1,000 just for giggles.

Grats to all Mac. :)

Congrats Mac.
My baby sister got married (hmm she was 23 years old actually lol) and Dad was a basket case. My daughter was the flower girl. That was 5 years ago, mine was 6 years old. I kept poking at Dad about the blubbering, but he got me when my Sis and Daughter were on the dance floor, both is white gowns, looking Identical. Dad just smirked and said, remember that view, and I'll make darned sure I'm there to see you!
:)

I don't get what the big deal about one's daughter getting married is. I have two and both have found good companions and hopefully life mates. both of the boys are from undivorced parents as we are.
they have an example on both sides from which to gauge what a marriage should be.
I have two grandkids with a third on the way and I'm loving life.
I hope and pray that God has a nice girl in preparation for when my seventeen year old boy gets ready to settle down.
once again mac all the best to the happy couple, may they find joy in each other's company.

Man I survived it.
Kinda...
Dam near passed out walking my Daughter, she almost passed out too. I guess we looked like two drunks trying to find the next Bar.
Yes I had tears... It tugged at my Heart.
When the Preacher asked who was giving her away... Just as I was to say "I am her Father and I give her away freely." this huge snot bubble came outta my right nostril... thought I was gonna die right there.
My Son was the ring Bearer. Prior to the Wedding Victor told Jake not to let go of these Rings no matter what... as in not to lose them. Jake forgot to walk up with the rings. They called for the rings and Jake went up, the Preacher held out his hand for the rings and Jake hesitated and looked at Victor. A short period of silence then Victor smiled and told Jake "It's okay to let go of them now Buddy."
People were crying and laffing at the same time...
When the Groom and Bride kissed, Jake and I did a triple side to side hip dip together that we practiced.
I have a new Son and Jake has a Big Brother. I will always forever have my Baby Girl.
Priceless.
Man I had a Great Day today... still have a lump in my throat and a tear in my eyes and laughter on the inside. Talk about mixed emotions.
Thank you all that wished them well.
Bless you all.
