Title: BF or ME?

What is the difference (if any) between th BF 109 and th ME 109?. Just one of those things i've always wondered.

The original designation of the "Bf109" was submitted by Bayerische Flugzeugwerke.   It was renamed in July 1938(?) to the "Me109" because Bayerische Flugzeugwerke was bought by Messerschmitt AG.

Hrm... funny, this very thread was already posted and already discussed this very day. Why, you can even see it *quite* easily, with almost an identical name, below this one in the forum list.

I believe whats left of Messerschmitt AG, later became Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB) which became bought by DaimlerChrysler Aerospace AG (DASA) then lastly becoming part of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS N.V. (EADS)
So yeah there is the life cyle of the company ina nut shell.
