I just bought a Saitek Cyborg evo wireless and just wondering on your personal experance if you have any with this.. I'm still waiting for delivery, Monday Uggg, but wondering if I made a good choice for a starter stick..

I would have personally gone with a ST290 Pro...I've had good luck with this, used it for 5 yrs and now it is finally fading out. I do believe all the Saitek sticks are good...I have an X52, and an AV8R right now...

But, yes...all Saitek's seem to be good starters...(except X52 and X45)

i just took a look at the ST290 Pro and the evo looks about the same but with a few more buttons.. and i really wanted a wireless cuz i hate stuff with wires when it comes to mouses, keyboards, and remotes. lol...

Yeah, I was looking for a Cyborg...but BestBuy wasn't in stock, and I needed one that day...so I bought the AV8R-01.

The wireless version requires a new AA battery every couple of days. When the battery starts running low, instead of the inputs sticking at the last spot they were at, they all immediately jump to 0,0,0. This means that you will suddenly stop maneuvering and possibly get the "Don't move your controls so rapidly" message.

A wired one is a much, much, much cheaper choice (batteries) that's a solid system. I bought a new wired stick after having the wireless system for a couple months, so now I have both in my closet while I use my X52.

The Cyborg has lasted the longest of all my sticks except my poor old Sidewinder. Though much less functional than an X stick, they're more rugged and a tiny bit more accurate. A touch of silicon on a saturated Q-Tip over the moving part of the joystick makes it much less noisy, smoother and last longer.

well that sucks cuz i already bought the wireless one.. but batteries are not my worries cuz i can get them for free from work. :) but lets hope i have good luck with it.

i got one it take a bit of getting used too and if you go for a long flight say a bomb run if there are no inputs from the stick it will go in to sleep mode and turn its self off.

Yes, but that saves battery power and as soon as it detects input it resumes working.
