Not a wierd error at all.  The computer does not meet the minimum requirements for the game.  The video card cannot support DirectX D3D, per the DXDIAG.  Even if it did, the card does not have enough video RAM.

Post by: Krusty on July 19, 2007, 02:56:44 PM
What is your CPU clock speed? It says 50 MHz, and that can't be right.

The reason you're crashing is because you don't have a video card. You have some form of onboard video that is not capable of running in D3D mode, according to the error line in the text you posted. That means it's a 2D video chip.

AH requires 3D.

EDIT: Damn, Skuzzy types fast! Beat me to it

you need at least a 64mb display memory in your video card .

Processor: Intel Pentium III processor (2 CPUs), ~1.0GHz

if that is 2 slot type cpu's in there I doubt it will play . they just arnt fast enough .

Well 1GHZ is really scraping the low-end requirements, maybe you could do it with 320 ram, but my old PC couldn't.

You *might* normally be able to run the game, barely. The kicker is the vid card. ATI Rage. Very old. 4MB. Can't run AH on this.

EDIT: LOL Now who's the fast typer, roo?

Oh, yes, good point. The game will crash instantly if there's no sound card (I know this from experience, don't ask!)

Nitro, you need to buy a PC that at least meets the specs of around four years ago. No matter what you do to those computers short of an entire overhaul of all the hardware, you will not be able to run the game.

Clear now? :D
