Is it to dark?

hey! that's really good, the lighting is nice.
one thing though, p40's didn't fight 109e's over the pacific :D
a few points...
your edges are still jagged and blocky. you need to use a softer eraser brush if you're erasing it all, it will make the edges look cleaner. try to get a nice straight line instead of a staircase ;)
if you have a fairly newish PC (one that isn't over 2 years old, and can get a decent frame rate in game) download the high res package from the downloads section of this site. once installed, the plane textures will be much better looking, right now they're quite messy.
props. once you've got all that down, try putting some props on the planes. take a screenie of the plane front on from external view, with the engine off on the runway. cut the prop blades out, select a circle around them, and use radial blur. then resize this prop layer so that it fits on the plane. if needs be, you should adjust the perspective to make it look right. clean it all up with the eraser after you're done :)
that is a very good shot though, the lighting works great because the clours blend well. good job!

Heres my first try :)

Biggles, do you use Photoshop? or paintshop?
I'd like to throw my hat in...but, I need some lessons...
-
photoshop :) it makes it SO much easier.
wes that's not bad, the colours blend well, good first shot!! the Ki and the 38 look really good. perhaps if you get rid of the others, and take a bigger screenie of the ki and 38? they really seem to be the subject of the picture. remove the 17 and p40, because otherwise, it ends up being quite cluttered. zoom in on the 38 and ki more, geta nice hi-res shot of both of them.
i think if you do that, it'll look really good, the lighting works really well in that shot:aok
-
i redid that image biggles.. i did swap the P38 for a corsair thou :)

Nice job Wes. See what the second picture would look like if it was a little darker.:aok

yeah....I have photoshop, imageready, and paintshop...I need some help using them though...no clue how.
-
wes your 2nd pic in your last post looks like it has potential. Notice the "color noise" from the original pic of the pyramids. Try to duplicate that for the P40 part of the picture so that it blends in better with the pryamid picture.
Understand?
-
nice pics wes but the p40 looks weird becuz of out graphics
(sry for the bad use a spelling and grammer i dont want to take the time to type all that with 1 hand) lol

Nice picture there jack, looks REALLY good. Wes, on your first picture the planes were TOO CLOSE TOGETHER! Try to make it look more realistic, the F4U wouldn't be that close to a KI-84 and trying to turn the opposite direction. Try to get the planes off and away from the ground some, and space the two planes some to put some distance between them.
-
Thank You!:D

wait a sec...Jack you're from PA? WOOT! thats 3!

Yup.:D

Wait, you guys take, say a plane image and crop them?
-
You take the image of the plane and copy and paste it onto the background image.
-
yeah, but you crop the "original" plane image so you just get the plane (by the way, im running into problems on that step)
-
No, you don't crop it...at least I don't. You use the photo editing program's eraser and erase around the plane. Then when the background is erased, all that should be left is the plane itself. Then you take the plane and paste it onto the background.
-
gotcha
-
here's one of my newer ones not sure if it's done yet might need a little somethin but here's what it looks like now
(http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n101/Latrobe_2006/88.jpg)
-
I put the background on, then I pasted the plane onto it. (I made a new layer) But, the pasted image masks the background. Now the image is the plane with a white background.
-
Thats why i use Microsoft Paint. Yo can use that square eraser carefully and try not to make the plane look like it had stair shaped edges. Then you use the Select or the Freeform Select. Before you copy and paste, make sure that the thing that appears under the tool bar is set to transparent . Then copy and paste it
