Title: Game only using 50mb of video memory?

obvious question..

according to the "ctrl I" info in the game

of 256MB of video memory, the game is using 50

and of 2Gb of ram, the game is using less than 1..

I can understand the RAM use.. maybe it just doesent need that much.. but the video memory thing seems a little wierd..

performance is great through, I never see it drop below 75FPS (my refresh rate) so I cant really complain.. just throught it was strange..

are the numbers wrong.. or... ???

EDIT: im  also using the 1024 high res pack and have the "profile" set to use 4x antistropic filerting and 8xS antiailising

The game only shows what the video card and its drivers report to it. The video card is telling a lie. ;)

REALLY?.. nutts.. and it seemed like such a nice video card.

When AH showed 798m of vid memory when it should be 512m and 36m used I knew someone was lieing and I placed bets on the video card. I've always ignored that feature. :)

While it seemed like a good idea, the video card manufacturers simply fail to report the vaule correctly.  Apparently it is not a requirement for DX certification either.

So while its not reporting the right numbers, your card is most likely working as it should be. None of the card really report the numbers right.
