Title: Can an ip be blocked (incoming)
Post by: MerlinVI on July 22, 2007, 08:05:24 AM
Hello Gentlemen,
I would like to know if there is any way of blocking an incoming ip address within aces or indeed windows itself so that i can permenantly ban a rather troublesome guest that seems to change accounts on an hourly basis just to annoy the guests in my H2H server or maybe a way to increase the kick time etc.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated, and to the AH Crew thanks for the game etc see you in MA soon as im now getting more time to play so its going to be worth the outlay.. SF Merlin C/o........out.

I don't believe there is a way to ban it in AH2.  The firewall in Windows XP SP2 isn't granular enough to ban a single IP.  It will let you allow a single IP, or a list of IPs, but it won't let you allow all IPs except the ones you don't want.  Do you have a hardware firewall on your network?  That may be your best option.  Otherwise, you may have to install a third party firewall application on your Windows computer.

I believe you can with zone alarm, but I'm not positive, although I know you can with some program.

If you're behind a router, they'll generally do it.

But, then your arenas would no longer have VOX capability.

If you are having problems with a player in the 8 Player arenas, then email a film of the event to support@hitechcreations.com and we will take care of it.

Thanks for your reply Skuzzy, its not really a problem and the situation that i thought would arise hasn't.

I would rather try to sort a problem with a player in my h2h server myself as im sure you fellas have far more to do than sort out h2h problems, Thanks for the h2h side of the game but its about time I made a return to the MA ill still host the h2h but obviously not as much hehe.

Thanks...............SF Merlin C/o h2h squad (at the moment lol):aok

I do use a router and my rooms have no vox(thank god for that)
we use other comms software so we can be very selective who we talk to lol.
Thanks for the reply and thanks for all the other people who took the time to read the post...SF Merlin C/o The SpitfireBoys H2H....

Hi Merlin,

On a different subject if you make it back to the MA look out for my squad The Few we are mainly Brits and always appreciate the extra countrymen.

We too also have our own ventrilo vox so give me a shout if you do make the switch  ;)
