I just met "shop" tonight. He has property here in town and called me saying he was coming a few days ago. That and a couple of his squaddies PM'd me. (thanks)
He's a good pilot in the game and without a doubt one of the coolest people Ive met in a very long time. We were going to meet at a local pub where he used to play music years ago, and he said he was going to play later on with his old band mate.
Well per usual I didnt make any exact plans like what time, what do you look like etc. So when we got there I was like "Oh this is great...how am I gonna know who he is?".
So my wife and I have pizza and a couple beers and she sees a guy talking to one of the band members. SHes says "I bet thats him."
I was like "Well Im not going to walk up to a total male stranger in a bar and say " Hi...Im supposed to be meeting a guy tonight...are you him?"
AFter a while he was asked to come up and play with them and when they called his name it confirmed it. So with fresh Beck's in hand for courage, and my wife nudging me like I was a kid asking the pretty girl out :P I went forth. As I approached him he said,,"Filth?"...I said.."Shop?"
He stood up and shook my hand. He came over to my table and we talked a bit. Then he asked us to join his family. Great people!
Then after a bit he went up and played with the band. He was awesome!
Not just ok..but very good at both vocals and guitar. His daughter even got up and sang and she was great too!
His wife is about as sweet as they come. We talked all night while he played. And to make it complete...when I was younger, my little brother and I practilly lived at a video arcade here in town. As it turns out...shop owned it! I couldnt believe it. We practically worshipped the place when we were kids.
Im slightly drunk and am probably gushing a bit...but man..if you get a chance to say hi to shop in game...Im tellin ya...hes about as cool a dude as you could meet!

Sounds like our entire squad (I'm bias:D ). But seriously, a friend of shop's is a friend of JG-3 Udet.

just got back and read your post. was great to meet you and your lovely wife. Funny, I said the same to my wife about finding you:

"What's his name if I think I see him?"

"Right, I'm going to go to some strange couple and ask if they are Filth and Mrs Filth!"
Wish I could have spent more timing talking bud, but had to get up with my old partner and jam.
We will be back up in a couple of months to do some more work, another few beers sound good?

Ya know we went back there the following sunday and had the whole family as my brother came up. We ordered our food and waited. The waitress disappeared. After an hour I finally went into the kitchen and asked if their was a problem. Some burly kitchen woman says "Ya..the machine broke."
I said" The machine broke?"
"Ya" she says.
So I return to the table and sat down and my brother -in-law says "So wtfs the holdup?" I said" The machine broke."
"What machine? The food machine?!" he asks.
Anyways..we ended up getting our food 2 hours after we sat down. Thats the second time thats happened to me there. Personally I think our waitress forgot about us.
But ya...give a ring and we'll go out and do something :)

Thats definently right. Even though i haven't met any JG-3 out-of-game, they are DEFINENTLY one of the coolest squads and most helpful squads arounds (besides the DHBG of course:p)

Hey, we may have our moments in the game where we might come off as a little unfriendly, but that is only if you jump on us over the 200 channel, lol. But when it comes to a down home freindly bunch of guys, I have to say our squad is at the top of the heap. Meeting people outside of this game is what we are all about. Life is just too short for any egos or anger.
Thanks to all of you guys in the game that can see past this battle we play and realize we are all just people that enjoy a great time!

me to boot. btw I hate la7's, have I ever mentioned that?
