Title: what does YOUR squad do?
Post by: Oogly50 on July 23, 2007, 02:59:40 PM: Okay... I just joined a squad the other day. The flying skulls (If I'M getting in then they must be letting ANYBODY in...)

We have a squad night monday night (is monday today? Note to self... ask daddy what day it is) at 7:00...

I dont' know what we do for squad nights, nor have I EVER been in any squad's squad nights...

Please post here what YOUR squad does :D

I know... another pointless post, I got bored and decided to post on the forums... but there was nothing but the same old crap I had to read over and OVER...

Post by: Stampf on July 23, 2007, 03:04:21 PM: On Squad night JG11 starts in the Training arena. Some nights we barely make it out of there because we are either having a mission specific training, too much fun, or both.

However after that, we generally head to the MA and fly into the largerst enemy concentrations we can find. Maybe join a knight offensive with some jabo's or practice our roles for upcoming Special Events missions.

Mostly laugh alot and try to kill as many red guys as possible.

Post by: Krusty on July 23, 2007, 03:59:13 PM: We're a loose group of pilots that enjoy winging with each other, flying fighter sweeps in same planes, and occasionally having a "squad night" on saturday or sunday. We're active in the FSO under a joint "USMC / 71 Sqn" unit. We don't really do base capture, unless we have the urge (not often).

We don't require that you only fly 1 plane (for example only P47s) but we often require at least 1 type of spitfire sortie on squad nights. We've got about as many Euros as we do Yanks, and have wide tastes ranging from buffers to spitoon pilots to luftwobbles (leather underwear chaffs!) to p47 lovers to... well you get the idea.

I guess we're in a squadron because it's more fun than not being in one.

Oh....and trying to decide how many margaritas Shuffler has to have before his flying gets better........um....and wondering what dress Silat has on...............well you get the idea.

We are very serious about what we do and think that everyone in Aces High should be just as serious as we are.

It's about winning the war after all! And this is war!

Of our 7 members here's what we do;

1 never flys above 100'
1 never flies below 17,000'
1 only flys 1 plane
1 will fly anything
1 plays for 1 sortie, logs off, logs back on for 1 more, logs off, logs back on, logs off...
1 rarely flys at all
1 has disappeared completely

You know who you are ;)

Reality is that we used to be very good at it, but the newer maps make it tougher for smaller squads. We don't get the support we used to, so that adds to the chaos.

With a good handful, we like to smash and grab. Has to work on the first pass, or you create an extended battle.... Even this becomes fun, as it concentrates players and brings on a good local battle.

We try Thursday and Sunday evening squad nights, but turnout sucks in the summer....

In fact, I am taking July off, myself :)

We're always on the lookout for more Hog fans looking for a squad.

Post by: BlauK on July 24, 2007, 02:57:29 AM: Our squadron (Lentolaivue 34) flies mostly Axis planes, but anything goes at MA.

However, the core of our squadron has always (since 1999) been the "War Missions" ( read the rules (http://koti.welho.com/skukkone/LLv34/wmrules.htm) ) which are reported in each pilot's flight logs.
The idea is to co-operate, get and confirm kills and to stay alive to achieve a long career. The careers are listed on the Squadron Kill Boards ( e.g. AH Kill Board (http://www.virtualpilots.fi/LLv34/dbman/db.cgi?db=kb&uid=default&view_killboard=1&sim=AH&sb1=3&so1=decend) ) and each pilot name also acts as a link to pilot log. Currently we have 641 reported War Missions in AH, 882 in IL-2/FB/PF, and 1563 in EAW.

One is not required to fly these War Missions, but they are used for determining one's activity and to gain promotions, medals, ribbons, etc. Passive pilots get eventually moved to reserve.

Many of us also enjoy participating in AH Scenarios.

plus we do duel other squads sometimes and just recently withdrew from fso after a while, we rarely do buffs where in ponys 99.9% of the time:o

i personaly hang with dweebs such as karaya xargos bk etc....

Funny as hell. I remember when they first sent me back to the yard, I had this inmate thinking I was new. He kept talking **** to me until one of the inmates from max warned him about how many cans of gas I've been through. lol

We mainly steal each others kills

We try to fly in front of each other to make the squadie get killshot

We let one of the squadies create a mission and once it launches complain on mission channel that is is a pointless mission and will most likely fail miserably

We then all take off in different directions to find a furball and if the mission works we claim it was because it was a WM mission

We squelch wrag if he starts singing on squad vox and PM each other to go to another arena because he is singing again.

Lots of real important stuff ..... like..... uuhhh....
fly planes....and uhhh.... you know ...stuff

umm FROZEN Margaritas.... all 80th 38s have blenders installed. We have a BRT ground crew that is larger than our full Squad of Pilots. BRT goes in after one of our (or all of our) 38s go down to remove the ultra sensitive and secret Margarita Blender. If they have time they also remove the Superchargers. BRT is aka Blender Recovery Team.
