In WWII when planes would catch on fire they would usually just drop like a bomb, spinning and spiraling towards the earth. Shouldnt we have that instead of keep on going and shooting someone down!:furious
-
So you are saying, if a B24 caught fire, it would go spinning like a marry-go-round?
-
mainly it was fighters
-
still i dont think it will see much attention to the way planes fall...
all that matters is if the plane falls out of the sky or not really
-
Well in real life when the plane would catch on fire the pilot was probably also shot or had flames coming into the cockpit and was more worried about getting out than flying the plane. In the game that's not the case so we end up with the meteors of death cruising around taking pot shots at people.
Granted though I'd like to see fire as an instant kill. I don't know how many times I've flamed a plane only to have some dweeb come swooping in from no where and steal the kill. Personally I don't shoot at planes that are burning. That's someone elses VALID kill, just takes a little longer.

Just because a plane caught fire doesn't always mean it would enter into a death spiral or drop out of the sky.
ack-ack

Eh it was more like the pilot was killed and hunched over the stick....
-
Well sometimes planes would be shot and just lurch over uncontrollably and go towards earth, then the pilot, if alive, would bail.
-
The only VC awared in the BoB was to a Hurri pilot who was bailing out of his burning fighter when a German fighter passed in front of him. He climbed back into the cockpit and, ignoring the fact that he was being badly burned, chased the German fighter down and dispatched it before bailing out.
Many a bomber was held level by its pilot(s) giving the crew time to get out.
Aircraft most certainly did not go into death spirals just because they were on fire. The aircrew just usually had other priorities than continuing to fight. That Hurri pilot was an exception.

I agree TOTALLY, It really ticks me off to get a plane burning and have some banana finish it off and oh golly gee whiz I get an assist for tearing that plane a new rear. (no Im not complaining about the ones stil able to fly for 10 minutes and still kill stuff while flaming Im talking I have him burning and falling from the sky and dweebs shoot at the falling carcass)

umm daddy ack using englash slang words ,dont use them too much or we will never be able to use it in the main arena and annoy the rest of the yanks lol.
if a fighter is on fire and the pilot not wounded the game should bail them out auto maticaly if they are wounded and burning boom ya dead.
