> and I am sorry about all of the flooding on your side of the pond. Here's hoping for a fast cessation of the waters.

We have it pretty bad too, but nothing like that, and nobody except afew tourists on a rafting trip has lost their life. Looks like the brits will have to endure afew more days of rain too :(

No, the internet got flooded.
Anyway, the low-pressure areas have been southbound and hit Europe before "raining out" over Iceland. So, for us over here, we hardly had a drop of rain in some 6 weeks, and we have a very warm climate as well. Call it comfy, on a day job in an open tractor you wear shorts and T-shirt.

You stole our summer weather Angus :furious
Its been pissing down since the first week of june here and i cant even count the number of records that has been broken :cry

UK Guys... Saw a bit on the news... looked pretty bad.
-
Wow! Lot of water! Didn't realize it was so bad! Praying for you all. Hang in there.

I guess the Queen will think twice about having a Native American folk dance troop dance for her again.
ack-ack

sad thing is in about 2 weeks they will be back to hosepipe bans due to a lack of water :(
-
My mum reckon's its not been so bad in Scotland - pretty average (read cr@p) summer there.
As for England - well - its pretty sad, but then a lot of them needed a good wash.
;)

Saw it here. Looks real nasty over there. I hope all you guys are alright, I know Aces High has a lot of great pilots over there, and great guys in general. Since my family is already be unusual and actually praying, we've got you folks in our hopes and prayers too. I hope all you guys pull through alright.

Yup pretty bad here, ok down here in the south west still been pissing it down for weeks, Rhianna and 'Umbrella' has been number 1 for 9 weeks now I think as well.
Drove up to my Girlfriends last weekend luckily missed the bad day as people had been forced to sleep in their cars due to massive traffic jams caused by flooding over the M4 motorway.
And as i drove up had to keep avoiding piles of asphalt at the recent road works near reading which had been recently laid as it was peeling up like ribbons and collecting in piles on the carriageway.
The worst of it is that due to power sub stations and water treatment works also being flooded up near gloucester they are without power and fresh water.
But gotta stay upbeat, things could be worse.

we are all good over here in the UK . We just band together with the spirit of the blitz. Sitting round singing "run rabbit run" in an andersons shelter......o how we laugh.....*sigh*

Lol. FYI I have a shower every 6 months, even if I don't need one.
It could be worse. Certainly nothing like as bad as New Orleans or what the poor souls in Pakistan have had.
But thank you for the sentiments.

no jhortlund.. obviously it is co2 rain.. the co2 causes cold and heat and rain and it does it all by sneaking up behind it.
Best of wishes to you guys in england.. your weather is bad enough without all this rain.
We had our normal july day or two of rain for a couple of hours here... something we had missed for a few years earlier. Temp is about normal here... maybe a little lower on average than the hundred year average.

One theory I've seen mentioned is its due to the Jet stream moving more south than it normally is normally at this time of year it should pass more north of the UK helping to take the weather systems above the UK.
Just this year the Jet stream is moving over the top of the UK and so the weather systems are moving directly SW starting with UK then any bits of Northern Europe on the route and dumping all the rain on us :(
Its also been mentioned its a La Nina year so the colder than normal surface sea temps off of peru could be affecting global weather/jet stream patterns.
I'm no expert at all just a passing interest in weather due to being a surfer.
Wish it was winter this was snow instead :aok

England is about as far north as Alaska is. They are very lucky to have the weather they have (except for the flooding). The ocean keeps England from getting the brutal winters that the European continent gets.

Be safe over there brothers. Good luck
