Title: Sound Problem
Post by: ozrocker on July 24, 2007, 05:16:25 PM
Here's my problem. I connected an external speaker set that I bought to test it out. I plugged my headphones back in, and no sound. I tried in windows audio, nothing. I use the Asus Soundman, in the configuration, it's not detecting the microphone when it's plugged in.It shows the headphone for setup, but the setup for the jacks screen says not connected. My board is an Asus A8NSLI-E. I use on-board sound. I checked DX Diag, shows no problems.  Any Ideas?

OZ - just my expiriance, i have an ASUS A7N8x- deluxe with the Nvideia onboard sound i used for several years in AH (still do - w/o OB/sound).

My prob was kinda like yours, it worked fine for long time then one day the mic died, i thought it was just the head set, got a new one - nope!   My MIc port of the OnBoard sound just up and died.

i had to install an PCI sound card to fix it

Thought it was an on-board sound problem. Told wife I needed new sound card. Got a Soundblaster X-FI :) Well turned out to be my headset was dead. I had a 2yr "No questions asked" exchange warrenty. So now a new sound card and headset :)
