This was kind of touched on here, but I'm still confused:

I'm trying to set up fields that are like those in the current MA maps, where the field is captured by destroying a town, and then dropping troops at the town.

So... I add the field as usual, and then I add an associated town0 instead of a mpr0 (as I understand things.)

But what exactly are the proper settings for Town0 where the associated Field is n, and the zone (i)

Object Type "Group Master"
field owned checked
Field (n)
Zone (i)
"set to terrain height" checked
Object data 0

But is "can collide" checked or unchecked?  Denholms tutorial is a little confusing on that part, and the only thread I can find doesn't clarify it, to me anyway.

You have it right. Can collide is checked. The map room is recognized properly because it was built in the OE.
