Greetings skinners,
As part of a new part of netaces, I have captured all the skins available on-line. I went ahead and put this part up (eventually it will be part of something else...). For now, I'm calling it the Skins Catalog (http://www.netaces.org/skins/skins.htm).

Cool.
Very nice indeed
now if you could make it so you can download all the skins for each plane in a single download.
Then you would be a hero to all.
Including myself LOL
Meaning. Be able to DL all the 109 skins in a single DL
All the P51-Ds
All the Dwe.. I mean Spitfires

Nice, real smooth. But it is good to be able to see what they look like before you download them. Nice work hammer.

That's easy enough. I'll set it up over the weekend.

Wonderful reference page. Thanks for taking all that time (it must have taken forever!) to put that together!

great stuff hammer very nicely put together. its good you linked direct to htc downloads because many of the skins get updated over time.
like LOUIV my 361st has been sent to HTC again and a new version of it should be in the next skin release with changes to the nose and overall olive drab colors.
also my p38J when you click on it shows a pic of knites p38 :D

I wholeheartedly agree.
To be honest. This is almost how it should be set up on the HTC site to begin with.
Ideally. It should be set up (on the HTC site) a little like the "windows update" site with little checkboxes next to all the downloads so you can pick and choose as many or as few as you like. Then with a single click Download the ones chosen
But..thats just my opinion.
What I ended up doing is just using an addon for Firefox I found called "Download them all" in which I accomplished the exact same thing I just discribed above..
but again I do agree.
Outstanding Job Hammer

One to bookmark for sure, excellent job Hammer. Perhaps HTC could link to your page from their skins page.

38 page is fixed to show the correct plane.
There are a few skins that are not available for dl from HTC's site. They came over auto-update, but aren't on the dl page. I will let HTC know which ones those are.
Also, would something similar to what I've added at the bottom of the109G-14 Page (http://www.netaces.org/skins/109g14/109g14.htm) be useful?

IMO leave "submitted" out of it. Make it "official" skins only. That way folks know what is and is not in the game by default. Also, "submitted" skins can change frequently, some being accepted, some rejected, new ones submitted... It's about 5x the work.

Great idea.
Thanks Hammer!

If you mean the "back to skins menu", yes, that is helpfull. If you mean the submitted skins, it can be interesting to know what may be coming up some time.

Good thoughts. I concur.
Didn't I read long ago that there would be a rotation when more than 15 skins were submitted for a plane? If so, I will keep a place for skins that get rotated out. I know there are some new 51D skins in the pipe, which will push the number over 15.

You can try Gimp..it's a free paint program, just google it.
It's hard to explain how to do skins..so just go here Simmers Paintshop (http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/)
..and search the Skins Forums here for help. There was some old step to step message posted a while back.

Hammer, question regarding the Lancaster skin by Kev367th. The download is a .res file, which I have no problem with that. I figured you might've just had the actual skin placed into the terrain and all I would have to do is enter the hangar, select the skin, and press, "Save Default Skin". That's exactly what I tried, however when I attempted to enter offline mode the terrain would not load.
So perhaps you uploaded the wrong file or re-punctuated the extension? Is it possible to update that download or can you just send me the file via email? Thanks in advance.

That link is to HTC's skin downloads. That's how they download.
Save Default Skin saves the default as .bmp that you can use to make a template if you're making skins. It won't save other skins.

Hammer
