Title: .target command extension
Post by: Keiler on July 31, 2007, 03:29:07 AM
The .target is huge and difficult to correlate the size of an actual AC to it.

My suggestion would be to have a drone spawning as target.

For example ".target plane 13 800" which would spawn a B26 at 800 yards due north.

That way one could practise hold-overs, adjust covergence under close to real conditions and aiming at actual planes at a set distance.

Best regards!
Matt

May I ask why?  I thought it was an excellent suggestion.

What about this : to make it a bit more convenient to code, have a "paper" target like we have now, with the addition of a generic fighter painted to it at 1:1 scale.
I agree having drones might be over the top, but the current target doesnt really serve anything but to get a rough impression on how good or bad your dispersion and projectile drop is.
I know the trick with ".target 1" to overlay your own plane to the pattern. Yet I find it a bit awkward.

Regards,
Matt
