I logged on and got the pop up that the sherman had a small perk now. Finally I thought, but when I looked in the hanger I actually laughed out loud at what I saw..... 3 Perks........ LOL..... I'm just saying if your going to perk something PERK it don't make it a joke :) I was thinking that a small perk would be at least 10 but 3? I have around 1400 GV perks right now I belive and I uped a sherman, got 8, 1 hit kills and landed around 7.5 more perks in 10 minuits, over 2 more shermans at the current perk for bish in that arena.
I loged onto the other MA and the perk was at 5 but even at that massive price I could still up 280 shermans in a row or more if I got some kills befor I died... Heck anyone can up an M16 at a vulched base, shoot down a plane or 2 and be able to afford a few shemans....
Other players I talked to had similar thoughts about the perk..
For a tank that can kill anything with 1 hit I would say it deserves a lil bigger price. I'll say that this is a step in the right direction but this lil perk is just funny :)

Perhaps its because your 'bish' :aok Nah.. That can't be lol bish always double rooks numbers :noid
-
Flayed I'd have to agree and that was also discussed the day they perked the Sherman.
Anything that regularly can kill a tiger in one ping should be perked equal to, or greater than the tiger.
-
LOL i have not looked yet, im still at work.....
is it really just 3 perks LOL :rofl
-
As a balancing measure, 3 perks is not 'nothing'.
Even a few points keep the C-Hog in check.
-
C-Hog's are easy meat.
-
The F4U-4 is not, but I don't see them everywhere I go.
Besides, think of when the Chog first came out. Apparently it made up such a massive amount of the game that even the Ponies, lgheys, and nikis together were outnumbered. By adding a simple 5 perk cost to it, it reduced the number in the arena to a novelty.
Only a bit of time will tell if the perk cost works. Sit back and relax for a while. And pass the popcorn.

3 only because of the ENY multiplier of that time.
Standard cost is a whopping 5.

9 times out of 10 if I come across a Corsair, I'm shooting it down.
-
I'm definitely a lousy tanker, but even three to five perks is easy to get. Very laughable.
-
The same can be said for fighters, but you don't see nearly as many Spit 14s(that point's a bit moot though), F4U-1Cs, and/or F4U-4s as you see Shermans.
-
It's too early to draw any conclusions, but in the first two days since introduction of that small perk, the M4 usage has been reduced drastically (according to stats)
That may indicate that a perk value even that small has an effect. Let's wait a few days more and see what happens.

What's moot about Spit XIV's?
I used one 2 nights ago and kept a Pony, 2 Spits, a 190 and a Ta152 off of a squaddie in B24's while he made 3 passes and took out the fighter hangers at an enemy field. I didn't get any kills, just forced them to break off which was all that was needed.
My squaddie was at 15K, I was ranging from 13-25K and played a nice cat and mouse game with a Ta152 at over 20K. We were pretty even in both speed and manouverability at that alt.
XIV's are great little planes if you use them the way they were meant to be used. They are monsters at alt.
As to the point of this thread, I don't think I'm going to run out of vehicle perks using Shermans.
I still think the Tiger needs to be perked higher than the Sherman because of it's ability to withstand bomb drops but they should be within 5-10 perks of one another.
-
The Firefly needs to be perked more we all know that, but what we really need is a very heavily perked ride like the King Tiger perhaps :D . I need something to burn these 3000 perks off on.

Are you trying to say something about left handed people?
-
I'm guessing here but the pupose the perk is probably to reduce the number of them being seen. This idea worked on the C-hog. People are cheap and the perk would deter newbs from upping it simply because they know what a sherman is. I'm betting it's going to accomplish what HiTech set out to do with the perk.
As for the Spit XIV, it's a monster plane worthy of the perks. You have to know how to use it. I probably fly it more than most people would.

I'm in a similar quandary with my numerous Buff perkies. Arado? pft!
As to topic. I don't really need a heavily perked gv to justify the points. A couple low perked ones would do just fine: Tiger, Sherman Firefly, and 88mm FlaK36 for example. As to exact perk costs.....that is a trial and error sort of thing. Just to control overuse.

I am with the buff guys on this one. Please give them something to use their perks on. Whats the point of having them if they cannot be used.
So, please make their wish come true and perk all buffs and add an extra 200 perks to every formation.
Muahahahahah, divebomb those LANCs now :p

what needs to be done is lower the tiger perks say by 10 sounds right and perk the sherman as high as the tiger is right now that should balance it out:aok

No way.
The Tiger beats the Firefly about 2-1 each tour AND is more resistant to bombs (Sherman VC dies as easily as a Panzer IV). Giving them both the same perk value is utterly wrong.

I flew the Spit14 for a long while. It's a better plane than most, yes, but as other threads have fought about, it's no longer the "most killer" of the Spits. Also, it flourishes at higher altitudes.
