I had Aces High installed some time ago and I just wanted to play it again but now all the tracers are black. Since I last played AH I purshased a Radeon 9250 128MB PCI graphics card (yes I know it sucks).
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
PS. Aside from playing without tracers.

By All Means, I am not a comp Expert, but I had a similiar issue when I tried to DownLoad Fraps. I couldn't get it to work so I downloaded Drivers for it. Once I did, Everything in the game turned black. Try and update your drivers for the card. That might help.

That may be the problem there, too NEW a driver set. Some of the newer drivers don't play nice with AH2. Post which drivers your using, or do a search on the board for Skuzzy and drivers, to find the ones you might want to be using.

9000 series ATI cards all have this problem unless you use the Catalyst 4.12 drivers.
-
Ah. Now that's a problem. I'm on driver version 6.14
Aces High is really good but I don't think it's worth downgrading my drivers for it as that'll simply mess up all of my newer games. Correct me if I'm wrong, please!

It should not have any effect on any newer games as the 9000 series is a very old video system and the 4.12's were one of the last driver sets which had any updates specifically for the 9000 series.
As it is a DX9 certified driver I see no reason why there should be any issues, unless there have been fixes to work around specific game bugs not directly related to the 9000 series.
You can always go back to the 6.xx drivers.

Thanks for that, I'm gettin a new graphics card pretty soon anyways, it's still crap because I onyl have PCI slots on my motherboard so until I can buy a new motherboard or a whole new PC that's all I can have. It still beats a 9250, it's an nVidia Fx5200...I think, I'll double check that. It's 50mhz slower but atleast it's fully dx9. :aok

You won't find much performance boost over your existing card. Both are at the high end for PCI cards. You really can't get much higher than what you're at without a motherboard upgrade (perhaps better to save up for a whole new computer at that point)

I know that. Just well...saving up? Hard to save up for £500+ when you're 15 years old. :)
