Fernando Alonso has been stripped of pole and moved five places down
the Hungarian Grand Prix grid after impeding Lewis Hamilton in qualifying.

you can read the rest here. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/formula_one/6929333.stm)

i was watching it live today, i was disapointed to see Alfonso use
such tactic to disturb Lewis qualifying session.
GO Hamilton! i hope to see you today beat Alfonso on the track :aok
I'm sure it will be an very interesting race :D

Did not expect this from Alfonso :( I guess its extremly competitive within the McLarren team and that is a good thing. Bad for the McLarren in the constructors championship, but if this leads to actuall close racing between the McLarren drivers im all for abit of rivalry.... it has to happen on race day tho, and not during qualifying.

Im gonna enjoy the race today i think. Last race was excellent too with all the rain, crashing and confusions
:D

F1racing + rain = fun

oh and wtg BMW for edging out Ferrari :aok

Im most impressed by Heidfeldt in BMW, sato who held back Massa for so long and to a sertain degree Ralf. Was overall a really boring race.

It would be so great if BMW could pass Ferrari in constructors championship :)

Boring crap race...

...as for McLaren Ferr...Mercedes and their problems..oh well, they dealt with two real champions: Prost and Senna - I'm sure they're able to contain those two...

...and its not like that kinda thing has never happened....Senna almost put Prost into the pit wall once (let alone two Jap F1 corners), and I guess does this mean Rascasse-gate wasn't so bad after all?

If you found the F1 race boring, perhaps you would enjoy NASCAR.

We need some troublemakers and drivers with personalities back in F1. All the drivers now are boring professional athletes/system operators. Way to calm, calculating and collected drivers.

Oh and we need less wings (downforce), worse brakes, slicks and that powerboost button type thing they have in one of those american formula classes. Maybe we should also get fueltanks that lasts the entire race so drivers would stretch stints and overtake on the track and not mostly when pitting. :aok

You should really get some more information before judging someone... McLaren had granted one more qualifying lap to Alonso, but not Hamilton. Hamilton was not happy with this so he forced the situation.

It's all in the Team radio recordings...

If that is the case Alfonso should not have been punished. I think everyone judged him on the correct grounds with the information at hand tho.

Is Mclarren going to be stripped of their contructors points, or will they get them?

They contested the decision by the FIA, so it's yet to be decided.

In any case, I'm betting we'll see Alonso winning next year's championship in Ferrari or BMW.

Both the BMW and Ferrari drivers have contracts so the next opening for a move from McLarren to Ferrari will be 2009 i belive. There wont be many changes next year at all now that most of the slots are filled and signed. The many lesser teams will prolly continue to see new driver constellations tho.

Actually NASCAR and F1 are very similar when it comes to the actual racing - both rely on pit strategy and aero

Both Ferrari and McLaren have enough money to buy out or compensate someones contract, but I doubt either team have any real plans to replace their drivers.  And both McLaren drivers will tow Ron Dennis's line in the end

I see in the papers today that Alfonso is beeing a big baby about the incident rather than just dealing with it in-house. Ive lost further respect for him.

According to "The Times" McLaren will let Alonso go at the end of the current season. Ferrari or BMW, any bets?

Alfonso has been brilliant in  picking the team that has gotten its stuff back on track so id put my money on him replacing Kubica in BMW, or maybe Kimi in Ferrari. I think both massa and heidfeld is pretty secure. I think BMW will take another step up next year.

I believe earlier in the season schumi  was heard andquoted i wish i hadnt retired, ive been waiting for a driver like hamilton to test me.
And that he may consider returning if the circumstances arose.

I doubt this, must be some fantasy rumors,

he is on the way to get 40, he has a family today,
earned enough cash during his carrier, he won everything
(7 World Championships, still holding alot F1 records), why
should he risk his life again?
there will allways come a fast new youngster like Hamilton,
or Alonso. This guys are hungry, like Schumi when he started
his carrier 16 years ago.
But you cant really compete against a 20-25 year old if you are 40+ ;)
Stoping his F1 carrier was the right moment.

100% sure that shumi wont return to F1. Maybe in time he will get a more official role in Ferrari but not as a driver.
