LOL
I got nailed in either the 6th or 7th grade for the use of this word. Long, long time ago.
I was raised in a very, very small farm community town. I used the word in reference to a female dog.
Afterwards , the word got transfered to describe the old B we had as  a teacher. :)
Education is a wonderful thing.

Sheesh, guys, c'mon...  You're only entitled to freedom of speech when the spineless agree with what you say....

Yeah freedom of speach is just something the progressive left spouts off about to fool their followers into thinking they care about it.

Stupid laws like this and hate crime laws are what they really want.

They are a bunch of stupid ****ing **** ******* *****es.

Half my conversation would be gone,” said Michael Musto, the Village Voice columnist, whom a reporter encountered on his bicycle on Sunday night on the corner of Seventh Avenue South and Christopher Street. Mr. Musto, widely known for his coverage of celebrity gossip, dismissed the idea as absurd

His columns must be pretty boring if he only uses the b-word ever other word.
Profanity is an attempt of a weak mind trying to express itself forcibly.

Oh yeah and that is a perfectly good reason to ban words in a free society.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.

Might hurt some wussy prettythang b-word legislator though.  Stupid fools!

Besides, many of us use the term asexually.  A male is equally capable of b-wordiness as a female.

If I call someone a 'female dog' is there really any difference?  I don't like it when people call me whitey, even though I am, so we should ban that too to protect my tender and fragile sensibilities.

Can I still say studmuffingot if I'm talking about a bundle of sticks?  That's what it really means.

It's a valid form of expression, and often there is no better way to express one's sentiment.  The F-word, which I really wish I could display right now, is the most versatile word in the English language.  George Carlin puts it best.  Especially with his 'seven deadly words' bit.  Absolutely classic!

Tits?  Tits doesn't even sound that bad!  Sounds like a snack!  Cheese Tits?

You can salamander your finger, but don't finger your salamander!

Does it really matter what we call our excrement?  We all do it, and it all stinks.

I especially love when Carlin transposes the word 'kill' with the F-word in cliches from old westerns.

68Hawk,
I too think it is wrong for the government to tell us what we can and can't say. It seems like they sit in Washington or wherever and because they want to keep their cushy jobs they feel like they need to make laws. With the sad state of health care and unemployment in this country you would think they would do things to help those thing instead of worrying about the b-word.
I use to cuss with the best of them but I got out of the habit and don't really care to be around it. In that case I try to go elsewhere so I don't have to hear it. I work in an industrial environment and there is a lot of that going on but I don't say anything to the ones doing it. It is their right to say what they want.
It is sad however that we have to put a box on the tv so our kids will not be exposed to it. I know they will hear everything at the schools but if they don't hear it at home it reinforces the fact that we don't feel it is acceptable language to us.
Yes I am a church going person.
Hope to see you in the cartoon skies

I can understand how one wouldn't want their child exposed to Pulp Fiction in all its dialectical marvel, but kids know much more than their parents think.  It's been my experience that parents keep their kids from some subjects because they don't want them exposed to it and don't want to discuss it.  Most of the time the kid already knows what's going on, and the parents efforts are only counter productive.

I can't say as I'm a parent (that I know of), but I firmly believe that children should be treated as future adults instead of small things that society always has to work around.  I've seen way too many kids that suffer from not a lack of structure, but a misguided and devastating structure overload that prohibits them from developing into their own person, leading to their douchbaggery when they finally strike out on their own.

As much as we want we can only shelter out kids to a certain point, and sometimes even that point is too much for their own good.  I believe we should show our kids the world in order to best prepare them to confront it.  Showing them a pure disney version of the world may be fun an make us feel nice, but in the long run the unbalanced presentation of such a fantasy will only be to their detriment.

My point before was, what's in a word?  Only the things that we assign to it.  If we held a different stigma over the words that I unfortunately can't type here they wouldn't be so bad.  Please don't think I'm telling anyone how to raise their kids, but I remember my parents getting bent out of shape (seriously) when I said "poop".  If anything this has only given me a dirtier mouth now.  Do they mind now when I use more colorful terminology?  Not enough to say anything, leading me to suspect that their enforcement of certain standards were more for the standard's sake, and what they thought was supposed to be appropriate of them as parents.  I wish in some respects like this that they could have been a little more independently minded.  I believe parents should make rules because they have a good reason, not because they think they're supposed to.

Just don't jump on your kids too hard if they crack a dirty joke.  If it's all in good fun it's a lot different than a derogatory slur.

Also, lets not forget when Cartman's V-chip malfunctioned because of his dirty mouth and saved the day!  Barbara Streisand!  @#$#%% should have censored that, sorry if she offends anyone.:D

At least he knows where the bathroom is in the white house, presumably.
