I see the French at least know how to spell the word:
Kebob is wrong. The word is a kebab (even the spell check agrees :D)
While we're on the subject, gyro is also wrong. The correct term is donner kebab (preferable with salad and sauce after 12 pints of Guiness hmmmm.....).
I'm glad I was able to clear that up for y'all. :D

Although we have a lot of Turkish people in Munich the kebab meat tends to be veal or turkey because that's what the German's like. I miss the lamb kebabs of the UK and France. When I was in Istanbul they obviously had some fantastic kebabs! :)

Jebus, now I'm hungry for a kebab, with onions, tomatoes, and that yogurt/dill sauce. Well looks like a 95 mile trip to Vegas for me.
Dang, ten bucks cash ain't gonna get me a kebab and gas up the car :cry

Here this stuff is called "shaurma" in Msk or "shawerma" in SPb.
Caucasian/Muslim "fast-food", about 50 rubles for a sandwich (~$2). No pork, usually chicken, rarely beef or mutton.
People notice that there are very few stray cats or dogs around such Shaurma stands... "Is it fresh meat?" - "Yes, it barked just an hour ago!"... I hope they don't use human meat...
