What the heck was that movie with Bruce Willis....................Die Hard II/  Fictional Explosive becomes reality.

That's the one, amazingly this stuff is much like the fictional explosives used in movie........................ or what the heck do I know..............obviously not so fictional  :O

Well... I wouldn't be so sure on that. It looked a bit staged to me. There is some chatter on the Web along those lines too.

Looking at the video in slow motion, the explosion appears to come from the watermelon, not the pen.
Look at the spark pattern.

There are  "binary" liquids that make explosives, I have done it, and was taught by and old work buddy.

problem is they are SO unusable in anything other than a pin head.

the one I know uses Iodine crystals and a liquid most can't get in concentrated form.

mix them about into a paste, keep draining off and residual liquid until it is as thick as cement.

take a paperclip and a tiny dab, and flick it onto the floor / ground.

let it air dry out completely (about 5 minutes).

when someone steps on dot it explodes about the same loudness as a black cat firecracker.


oh yeah, as long as it is "wet" it can't explode. even after the "explosion" there is a red dot of moist iodine left you can stomp on to your hearts content. the chemical reaction has to do with the crystals forming a rigid form, and that takes the absolutely tiniest bump to make it go boom.

anything other than a tiny dot doesn't dry out correctly and it doesn't work.

watching that video is JUST how the stuff I made looked, and was made, except squeezing that tape on would make it go boom. not "heat"

oh and that explosion is crap.
