Title: How about instead of "WTG"
Post by: 999000 on August 13, 2007, 05:19:04 PM: Ok guys WTG's are great but I'm wondering with the creativity I know we have here if we can come up with other " slaps on the backs".....for example if someone lands 5 kills in a 190..we could say "very Shawk like!"

That's also what I say: "Nice"...

I'll vary my response with the level of accomplishment Right around the 5 kills mark is when i start saying "WTG"...

Post by: pluck on August 13, 2007, 06:02:38 PM: I often say grats to some people after landing, but none of the people I say it to need it, nor do I really like it done to myself. I usually respond with a ty just to be polite.

I think it is with a different attitude if you said it to someone who you were fighting, in which you knew was facing many nme, and got a handful of kills and fought is way out of the bucket.

Alot of times, when you see people landing many kills, it's all just spawn camping and vulching....wtg them if you like, I'd prefer not.

Some of the most rewarding sortie's I've flown have not been 10+ kill ones, It's been the ones with 1 or 2 kills against some great pilots. It's not the number, it's the quality. getting a wtg for pwning noobs, spawn camping, ganging, cherry picking and vulching just futher degrades the meaning. I think some use for virtual butt kissing as well.

2 kills is a big deal in the current lw arena setup
providing you can get away from spit16 and la7`s
anyone who can do that deserves it imo
plus its a show of kindness and respect

Yup, it's the quality of the fight not the quantity of kills. Although slaying lemmings in droves can be quite fun.

ya, and its hard to beat it when you see 5 guys chasing one guy on the deck, drop in, none move, all lined up all nice and neat in a row.......you could probably close your eyes and take them all out....ask silat, he really doesn't open his eyes at all when he flies:)

We (our squad members) always wtg multiple kills on squad channel even if it was nothing special.

I'd say 4-5 kills deserves a wtg but if you're a noob then 2 is pretty good (hell, it's pretty good for me some nights).

5 kills doesn't mean they did anything more than a guy that landed 2. He could have (probably did) vulched all 5 of them. Where as the guy that landed 2 may have been in a fight with 5 guys, got 2 of them and made the rest run home. So to base when you give a WTG is on how many someone landed makes no sense unless you know how they got them. To each his own in how you wish to give out kudos to someone.

Yup, I took a break for a year or so and come back to this sensitive-new-age-guy "WTG" rubbish on two kills. I couldn't believe what a bunch of pansies everyone had turned into.

WTG's used to be reserved for 10+ kills, and landing kills in a spit/niki/la7 voided any WTG.

When I see somebody land multiple kills in a less than uber ride, I think they did a great job even if some of the kills may have been proxys. In my opinion, when somebody lands some kills in a Hurricane MkI or a C205 in a LW arena, the definately deserve a "WTG". Regardless of what chess piece they fly for.

Lately I've been sending out more Salutes too.
