very awesome indeed.

You put my art to shame :)
You'll need to give a few lessons to me about Photoshop...please :)
I have Jasc Paintshop 9
Photoshop CS2
and Imageready CS2

photoshop CS2 is all i use :)
you just use the various tools available to you to cut the thing out of a screenie, stick it on a background, use the dodge and burn tools to enhance the lighting effects on the object (because AH's lighting model sucks), add some final touches and you're good to go!
i personally use the pen tool to cut the object out because it gives really nice clean lines, but it takes a little bit of time to learn how to use, a good 30 mins of practise or so does the trick :)
glad you guys like it :) already working on another shot, which is already looking awesome even though i say so myself :D

:huh :huh
I've been having trouble "erasing" the say "38" and posting it on the "background"
I have a hard time cropping...and when I get done It always looks like crap

don't erase, use the pen tool. make sure the paths option is turned on (same place you would change brush size with the brush tool), it's one of several buttons. use the pen tool and click along the outside edge one by one. each click adds a point linked to the last one.
if you make a mistake, use ctrl+alt+z to back up. click all the way round (straight edges are easy, they only need a few points along the edge, but curves will require a lot more to get a nice smooth curve. it helps to zoom in to 300 or 400% while doing this btw) until you get back to the start. click on the first point you laid and it will complete the path.
now right click inside the path, and select make selection. in the box that pops up, make sure anti-aliase is turned on and feather is set to 0.
that will select your object, now just ctrl+c, and then ctrl+v to paste onto your background which you have lined up in another window. hope that helps!
before you try cutting planes out, try something simple first, get the hang of it. if you are still really stck you can try to use the magic wand. try setting the tolerence setting to 15 and select the thing as cleanly as possible (make sure the anti-aliase setting is turned on in the tool options as well) once done just ctrl+c and paste. this method isn't as clean or sharp though, and it often doesn't look nearly as good. it is great for cutting small objects out though, like planes in the distance

i never said that, perhaps someone suggested that i could do something with it though. bat's original shot is a bit too small and not great quality though, so i'd have to get hold of the film. i don't know if i have time red, maybe in a few weeks? already got one in the works that i'm desperate to finish before wednesday.

I mentioned, "Wonder what biggles could make out of it." Biggles never mentioned he would actually do it.

i think i said that i'd take a crack at it if i got time, but bat never sent me the film, so i forgot about it...
i managed to finish the next one fairly quickly today, so perhaps i could have a go at it later :)
