So my girlfriend and I are sitting outside smoking a cig, looking up for any stray meteors from last nights shower, and all of a sudden I see what looks to be a star, however, it is moving. As it was overhead it looked to be moving much faster, than when it went across the horizon, but thats just because of where I was located, and it moving out of sight.
Anyways, i'm absolutely positive it wasn't an airplane, so I was wondering where I could find information about tracking either the shuttle or the ISS? Time was 10:00PM Eastern over Connecticut. So if anyone knows if either the ISS or Space Shuttle would be visible from this location at this time, i'd be very interested to know. It also could have been a satellite, however, i'm leaning more towards ISS or Space Shuttle because it was so bright, and looked bigger than what I would guess a satellite looks like.
Anyways, any information would be appreciated.

NASA tracking (http://science.nasa.gov/realtime/)
Go here and you can see everything. You'll need to navigate around the sire a bit but the J PASS program is pretty good. I know somewhere in there you can input your zip code and it'll tell you EVERYTHING that will be visible in your area.

It could've been the shuttle. I remember some years back it was early December and I was just sitting down waiting for light to dawn on gun season for deer. I was on my back looking up at the stars when across the sky came a clear bright object drifting across the sky...it was the space shuttle. They were bookin'

Its definitly a satellite:aok . Like you said, " it looked like a star, yet it was moving". If there are blinking lights, thats an airplane. I usually see them passing through the constellation Cygnus (the Swan/Cross). Cygnus is actually a constellation that the Milky Way passes through.

There are a number of LEOS (Low Earth Orbiting Satallites), both American and Russian.
The Russian birds are notorious for going north to south over North America.
It's easy to see one and go....WTF?
