Post by: BennyBeaver on August 14, 2007, 11:21:03 PM

YES A GERMAN CV (http://www.damninteresting.com/?p=434)

alright we all know that aircraft carrier had not munch of an impact

it said that the messerchmit 109s could fly that, we should make 109's cv compatible for the "luftwaffe junkie". although it said modifications basicly sucked...it would be fun :D  feel free to research this topic.

The 109's were Emils, so theyed be fairly outclassed. I know its more than possible to shoot someone down in an Emil, but it IS an early war bird, not that carrier bourne Messerschmits wouldnt be awesome.

On a side note, I read somewhere that the 109T was more heavily modified than the Seafire and was better suited for carrier use.

The Graf Zeppelin never left port, although the larger wingspan of the 109T would probably turn it into a good turn fighter.

According to your article, that CV had NO impact at all,  and was a floating shed.

To bad though.

According to what I've read, the Bf-109T was a modification of the E-1 model, with longer folding wings, arrester hook and catapult points.  The 60 or so that were made operated mostly from a small airbase in Norway that had a very short runway, and later on fortified Heligoland island.

There even was a navalized Stuka, the Ju87c. They were designed for the Graf Zeppelin but they were converted back to Ju87bs.

Way back in the longago, we had the CAP event. It was an "Alternate History" event where each battle had an effect on the overall war. In that event, the Graff Spee sailed with a compliment of 109Fs and Stukas.

It was a lot of fun. Landing the 109s was challenging for a lot of our players, but the Stuka practically landed itself. I miss the CAP event. We even had plans to let the Aquilla go to sea with some Maccis lol. We'd do anything in there to be different.

Had the Japanese had run wild, we would have had Carrier born N1K2s subbing for A7Ms, and we deployed A-24s to North Africa for Anti Tank duty. It was great fun.

The point is, Bf. 109T's were actually built, and saw service, and they would be a fun addition for German sticks. I dont think he's a noob for suggesting it, (god know's hes made worse) (http://forums.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=211468) albeit well never get it.

(scratch the link, got two squeakers confused :rofl )
