This is definately a wish and the code changes required are probably over the top.
Instead of haveing a set number, now 2, of kills required to get the message when landing sucessfully I wish you would only see that message when the number of kills you landed was above your average number of kills.

Average based on "Kill per Sortie"? In that case, there wouldn't be any change. 99% of all players do have less than 2 K/S

You know, I understand why people don't want / want to restrict the kills message, but here's a good reason for keeping it around: It helps CO's recruit.
I figure if I land a bunch of Corsair kills, and a squadless fellow sees that, he might ask me to join. Likewise, it helps me identify who out there likes the Hog.

One step farther ... just imagine how many "1" kill messages we would see ... the text buffer would look like a slot machine on steriods.

Kill messages are much better than the incessent (sp) macros from AW.

Hi all,
I think that if the message was upgraded to 3 kills it would be nice. Less messages, more time of fight, better.
More than that and it loses all incentive it may give to younger players and it turns against you.

Just turn it off and use the old "You've been shot down" for the victim and "You shot down XXX" for the victor. No need for a system message to tell everyone you landed 2 kills.
ack-ack

Turn off all the messages for that matter. Does it really matter to know who you shot down or who shot you down. The system would benefit from less message traffic.

The text info is sent separately from the flight info, so it won't really affect your flying lag.
This IS a game, not real life. In games you expect (nay, require) certain things. If there was no kill message, if there was no nothing, if it all went silent, you might as well fly MSFS. I'm not saying it's THE most important part of the game, I'm just saying it has its place, and should not be removed.

That would require people to actually land to get their name in lights. And you know they aren't going to

can't you just squelch channel 6 if you don't want to see the messages?
