Hello all,
Having an issue with MY X52. Mainly with the throttle.
WIndows sees every function of both the stick and throttle with no problem. I can use the software and it programs just fine. I pulled up word pad and tested all the buttons and the correct command key shows up.
NOW when I go to fly, AH does not respond to the throttle or the 2nd POV switch.
WHAT I DID:
1.) Double checked that windows was seeing the joystick and all functions.. it does even the throttle and POV2 switch.
2.) Uninstaleld all Saitek drivers and software and reinstalled.
3.) Tried alternate USB ports
4.) Went into AH Joystick setup and verified it was seeing the X52 and it was.
5.) Whilein the Joystick setup, I moved the throttle Forward and Z axis went to 0.. pulled it back and went to 65550(aprox)
6.) Set all joystick in AH setting to defaults..(SIGH)
MY CONCLUSION:
Its not the Joystick or throttle, WIndows is responding to all functions just fine, even AH is resopnd untill I go fly.
HELP.. not sure what to do next? Want to fly but AH does not want to respond to the Joystick, mainly throttle.
Only ohter things I got plugged into USB ports is a mouse and a USB wireless NIC card.
THANKS

Did you actually assign the Throttle command to the Z-Axis? Default doesn't always mean working... :D

Just a thought, if you reset everything to default, you *may* have returned everything to keys rather than on the joystick pov's etc..........

Well the thing is I didn't actuall assing it in AH. Left it as is.
When I set it to defaults the basics ot the joystick works but again throttle is a no go.
Now here is another thing. Before I moved the blasted thing worked just fine. After I moved the problems hit.
IS it possible that the throttle may have been damaged to wwere windows sees it okay but AH has an issue with it?

Because before you moved and after you set your stick up before, HT changed the defaults. You need to manually tell the Z-Axis that it is the Throttle. Default doesn't seem to be working for you.
If the numbers move when you move an axis, it is being recognized perfectly but is either unassigned or assigned incorrectly.

I have found, either right or wrong, that you set up the X52 partially in the saitek software and some of it in the Aces High Controls setup.
For flight controls I use the Aces setup.
For key board commands, I use the saitek settings. Like firing guns, rocketws bombs, flaps, etc, etc.
You also might want to consider getting the beta software and drivers for the X52. It gives you the opportunity to use the pinki switch as a togle swith to add a second layer of controls.
Example is my wheel button on the throttle "without the pinki switch activated" is keyed for combat trim. With the pinki switch activated, it lowers the landing gear.
Lots of options.
Also, if the numerical value from 0 to 3000 or whatever is wrong, reverse the axis in the aces control options.
It will take a while to get it set up right, but it is well worth it. I went thrrough over 30 different setups and I'm still not done :)

You can easily set up the stick to do anything you need to do with only the AH settings as well. I've never used the SST software.
